How to Recover From Depression

Depression lowers our mood, drains our hope and energy to do what makes us feel better. Although depression kills your motivation it does not mean that it is impossible to recover from it.

When you are depressed taking action and doing things that will better your life will feel impossible, because the motivation or the drive that you once had is gone.



Steps on How to Recover From Depression.
1. Acknowledge; accept what you are feeling.
2. Find Someone You Can Talk To; The next step is to look for someone you know you can trust.
3. Hang around people who love you; This can be your relatives, child hood friends or your current friends.
4. Have a journal; The next step is making sure you have a journal.
5. Avoid what got you depressed.
6. Eat healthy; You should always eat healthy.
7. Do something that makes you feel good; The next step is doing something that makes you feel good.
8. Do things you enjoy; This can be taking up a hobby that you enjoy.
9. Purse your passion; The last step is pursuing your passion. By now your motivation is back and you feel like you are staring a new and better journey.

    Duncan, As somebody who does suffer from depression, I can tell you that general forums such as this aren't generally the right place to chat about such subjects. It does depend on the person, of course, and what they expect to get from this type of chat.

    as someone with rapid cycling bi polar disorder that is highly effected by the weather ..or just happens ..

    depression is a part of life shit happens people die ..friend let you down ..love relationships end ..so even if you are normal..you will have periods of depressions ..

    if you a gifted creative person you are more likely to struggle with depression ..for most that struggle is where what they creat comes from ..

    depression is a state of mind, and to recover from state of mind, i use meditation and exercise. meditation take care of your spirit and exercise take care of your physical.
    some people will find some works to do, to eliminate the free time they have. because when we depress, our thought will go at full speed toward negative thing when we are free. this way they both surrounded by many people and work and no time to think of those sad things anymore. it is a good technique, especially if you just lost someone important to you. at that point, exercise and meditation might not do you much help, but this technique will. also join a positive mindset group weekly, join good seminar on personal development, this will also help people get out of depression faster as well.
