If you work in an office you will most likely know how extremely difficult it can be to manage your time. Some things that can be done make sure you make the most of your time is to:

Firstly, make sure that your office space is positive. Nobody likes to sit in a boring, dull and dark room!

Secondly, you should make sure that your desk is tidy. People waste a lot of time because they cannot find anything!

Thanks for the articles, it's pretty good. But point number four, nowadays paperwork is very less everything is done in online comparing to previous days now paper work is very low. Business people like to store everything in cloud or some other sources.

  • With #5, I think you should switch that out with email and instant messages instead of the telephone. Nowadays, I get more work related emails and chat messages that distract me than actual calls.

I agree, managing your time efficiently and effectively in the office is an everyday struggle. If you get your time management right then, you will enjoy great success. Your article that you shared had some valid points, I would also like to offer some other suggestions that have helped me have some success with time management in the office.

It is essential to create a daily plan and try to stick to it. Try and plan the night before the tasks you would like to achieve then stay focused on them for the day. Things will always pop up during the day, but you can always go back to your plan. If you can try and put a time limit on each task, this will allow you to be clear on how much time you should spend on each task. The time limit will prevent work from dragging on and you not being productive.

Using a calendar for your daily activities such as outlook or Google calendar will make sure that you never miss a deadline or meeting again. I also use Insightly to track tasks and manage team members as well. Also using an organiser is a helpful tool that organises and contains all of my business information, to-do lists, projects and other notes.

Above all, make sure you set realistic expectations in your work environment and make it an enjoyable place to be, after all it is a place where you will be spending a ton of time so you want to ensure it is a nice environment.

I hope this helps you on your business journey and welcome to WF - I am sure you will get heaps of great info from this forum. It has been a really supporting network for me.
