No success will ever occur without an idea and the willingness to put it into action and see it all the way through, even if the path or the result arent certain.
Look even when you leave your house to work you have no idea what obstacles or dangers youll face, you can plan ahead as best as possible but youll never be able to predict exactly what will happen, you just trust yourself that youll deal with whatever comes while youre driving and are willing to take that risk, that is very similar to success. Every time you go for something with an element of uncertainty you grow more confident if you succeed and if you fail. Thats why I always suggest to fail early, fail big and fail often!
So much of my success was built from executing dumb ideas and somehow making them work anyway, or perhaps failing but using them as the inspiration for the next idea that would actually work amazing. Could I have thought of the second idea that worked without the inspiration and experience from the first? Im sure I never be able to.
Remember that people will always criticize you for leaving the circle of influence that they want you to stay in, even if you are making a positive difference, even if youre making them money! If you really believe in what youre doing dont let the fear of failure and criticism stop you from taking action, people will publicly reprimand you and then behind closed doors the same people will thank you and give you a nice check as a sweet great job bonus.
Know that diplomas and degrees are just low quality and extremely expressive second-hand opinions that suggest you might have certain skills. The problem with these papers is that everyone has them and all they do is get you into the list of the everyones that applied for the job. You really want that job? Go straight to the CEO, tell him youll do the job better than anybody else and that youll work for free just to prove that youre the best. If you dont know how to do it tell him youll learn on your own while working. Cant do that? Sorry but you just proved youre useless, what are you even doing approaching the CEO? Just get back to the resume line, Im sure somebody will hire you, eventually.
Seriously though, you can expect that 99% of the time the HR person is a complete idiot and has no idea what the CEO actually cares about. The CEO is someone who had to take massive risks and initiatives to get to where hes at, you can bet that if you just crash through the door (so long as hes not in a meeting) and display a diehard commitment and passion to work for him, hell immediately recognize it from himself and would most likely hire you on the spot.
The CEO has only 1 interest, and thats making more money (or saving money, but especially making more money), if you can prove youll help him make more money Im here to make you a ton of money! Ill even work the first month for free!, expect to be one of his most cherished and highly compensated employees within a year or two of you can actually back up what youre saying. And if he doesnt want you? Good! He just saved you the trouble of finding out that hes a shit CEO and that hes not the kind that likes to promote people anyway!
As you can see, degrees, diplomas and resumes are a joke. Theyre just like dating profiles for guys and girls who cant approach people in bars or the street. Its just a way for those who dont have it in them to go for what they want to have a politically correct solution to get a sub-sub-par version of what those who have balls get. In that sense dating websites and resumes are sort of like welfare, only that you get the bill at the end.
Hope I turned you completely off the approach that most people take, unless you like settling, in which case you wouldnt be reading this book anyway. Now go pat yourself on the back! Youve just proved that you have a not-too-shabby chance of making it and accomplishing your goals, with a bit of luck and persistence.
