Leaving Your Comfort Zone

Leaving your comfort zone can lead you to greatness by helping you overcome your

fears, grow new skills and teach you to deal with change.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is not optional but required for success.

"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be

chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again." - Abraham Maslow

in reality leaving you comfort zone is not the best long range growth tactic.

constantly expanding you comfort zone is the strategy that works best ..starting out you may have to leave or step way outside your comfort zone.. just to find out where it really is ..once that phase is over you know where the border of you comfort zone is and push that out here and there ..

Working in your comfort zone can often produce wonders.

There are a few key switches within, that once flicked anything is possible.

Even if you stay in your comfort zone.

I think perfecting what we have can be a great asset to us, but i do think leaving our comfort zone can open our horizons. The things that we could accomplish are unimaginable.

Success often involves doing something different which in turn often means leaving the comfort zone.

The comfort zone, is a behavioral space where your activities and behaviors fit a routine and pattern that minimizes stress and risk.In our comfort zone, there is a sense of familiarity, security and certainty. While stepping out of your comfort zone into a new and challenging task can create the conditions for optimal performance.

pretty much.. a huge number of people are spending most of their energy trying to keep the same and have a false view that there where these good old days ..but we live in times of change and the only thing that changes about that is that the pace of change accelerates .

my personal philosophy is to stay aware of the discomforts in my life and seek a much more comfortable lifestyle .. hell most people with first world mindsets go crazy if they are alone with no entertainment if they had to sit quietly for a few hours ..

power went out in las vegas today because of high winds.. and i couldn't work outside because of the high winds ..so i was just vizualiting and planning how to put a 3000 plus Usd income a month together so i can live in or travel through latin america for a while ..

see i want the perfect climate where i don't need air con or a heater running and i can grow food all year if i own some land that is where my ideal comfort zone is.. i was thinking hawaii ..but way to expensive to live there

There's nothing wrong with being in our comfort zone, unless we get too comfortable and start holding back instead of challenging ourselves to learn, grow and try new things. Being slightly uncomfortable can push us to achieve goals we previously thought impossible.

Absolutely Juliana, you are 100% correct. Unfortunately, it took me many years to realize this- wish I had learned it much earlier in life. In fact, the capability of getting out of our comfort zone has distinguished humankind from other primates. So both on a societal level and an individual level, moving beyond that area of the familiar and comforting is where all the potential for growth and advancement lies.

I believe we should definitely leave our comfort zone when we see an opportunity. But you really need to prepare everything, even your mind, to know that you may be hurt while doing that.

I have seen people who committed suicide because they lost everything with their bold move in business...

Leaving the comfort zone is necessary to improve yourself in life, but we should not let the side effect of that kills us.

Very interesting, I've seen people live under a three foot ceiling not knowing there's a universe up there. But when you do push that ceiling higher, look how far you can see all the possibilities that are there.

  • One cannot leave his/her comfort zone if they don't have a good enough reason to leave it.
It's not leaving the comfort that's the problem, it's lack of goals, vision, aspiration and motivation to do a certain thing.
So, dreaming high, believing in oneself and striving to be the best is what it takes to leave the comfort zone.
