Mastery

In Robert Greene's book Mastery, Greene writes that there are 3 stages to Mastery.

1) Observation

- There are so much of this going on these days. So newbies are easily confused.

2) Skill acquisition

-You need to keep practicing it for about 10,000 hours or 6 months - 2 years of correct strategies according to Tim Ferris and the Four Hour Chef.

3) Transfigure the Ideas

-Now develop your own ideas combined with the skills you learned.


I have an online system I want to have Mastery in mind.

But every now and then I get the shiny object syndrome and get side tracked.

What tips or tricks do you have for putting on blinders so that I don't get distracted and focus easily on a single goal?

    here is the problem with mastery .

    mastery is the top level of proficiency .. and many things have similar skill sets involved ..so you can become highly profictent in many similar thing untill you find what you want to master.. and transfer skills over and get coaching to really take a huge chunk off that 10,000 hour time frame ..

    a good amount of talent.. pre existant skill that transfer.. and coaching that you respond to and learn from.. can cut that 10,000 hours down real real fast .. then it is h=just action and repition ..

    but if you have no pre existing skills .. you really need to start developing them ..just to proficency levels .. forget mastery at this point

      i love the impending doom people espesiallly those who are expecting the economy to crash andpeople to start killing each other for the last bit of food .. though there is validity to prepping for disasters .. i wish i had the patience to go back years before 2007 .. and fact check all those who where right ahem about the collapse .. and see how often their prediction where months away ..

      got a lot of fools sitting on gold they bought for 500 dollars more an ounce than it is worth now waiting and almost hoping for the collapse .

      we are at the end of a lot of thing but it is not doom we are shifting to a different kind of economy and the Usa will be in a kind of multipersonality internal strugle as the old style capatalism and the new capatalism merge at points and clash in others .

      there are less and less thing people will have to master as the rapid advancement of tech will make robots that can be used to produce good at a low enough price point many people will have them in their homes or a workshop on their property ...people will have low cost medical scanners in their homes .. so you besaically can see the state of your health ..every day .

      master yourself and living your life .. and get better at the stuff you do to make your life enjoyable .

        Not sure if some are still believing in it, because they sensirely believe that it is real, and are trying to warn everyone to dig a hole and fill it with canned vegetables, or that they heard some irritating rational, hard evidence and are on a rampage?

        Trying to convince someone who doesn't believe in a higher power, and has invested a lot of time and emotional agility into something,....lol, not possible.

        All you can do is sit back and laugh at the cottage cheese proof that they come up with, that or get depressed that time and development may not mix.

          well i follow and pay attention to a lot of preppers as they are called or homesteaders ..a lot of them are pushing providing a market for many of the tech advancement that will change the more destructive lifestyles .

          oddly enough it many believers in global warming or man made climate change that have much larger carbon footprints than many who do not .. the threat of global warming is just the tool of the elites to wag their fingers at normal people and try to get them to change their behavior.. no real saving the world invold .. just the same old set of privileged snobbish a holes trying to keep poor people poor so they can feel good about themselves using the government to give them free stuff ..

          climate change/income inequality .. government can solve all problem religious believer .. the lot of them ..

          piss them of and master your own life .. and live the best life you can to give them the fracking finger .. and your best life will probably have a fraction the carbon footprint as theirs

            True, already doing that, (the last part) and also true, world gov, and individuals want to keep their mansions on the artificial beaches in Dubai, and Malibu, complete with an army of slaves ready to polish their 10 Lamborghini's, and cater to their every whim.

            In the meantime, (an article in the paper today) electricity goes up forever and free energy pushes it up even more, and pensioners that feel the cold and have little money, basically die due to the cold, or get their power cut, (that is actually happening).

            Electricity suppliers are up their with Drug company's, or Banks?

            And the rich with a conscience, won't do anything, since they have heard the poisoning, killing and burning down the house stories, coming from individuals who tried to get genuine free energy systems out to the general public.

              I am not a fan of free energy .. if we really had them and we could mass produce them efficienty .. the first place they would go is the military . and where the milliatery does not have these running their equipment already . the devices we have now don't meet the hype .

              plus with he destruction we have pulled off in the last hundred years with cheep fossile fuel energy we would probablt destroy the world faster with free energy..

              we have to learn to balance our energy need with wht the local environment can provide.. or wereally should not live there ..

              I will use numbers from the USA because for the most prt we are the worst .. for ever 1 calorie of food a person eats in the USA it take 10 calories of fossile fuel .. but half the food is wasted so it is more like 15-20 calories .. then about 50 percent of the power generated is lost from heat as it traveles through the grid .. to the end user .. and most of that power goes to heating or cooling a person home .. and in the USA while house sizes have more than doubled in the last 40 years ..family sizes have dropped .. and where 40 years ago 1 parent was home .. today both parents are working so for most of the day and most of the energy spent heating cooling a house..is keeping a empty house nice and comfy for all the stuff inside ..in a truth the global warming people are right ..if most of the population of the planet tried to live the way they do the planet would die .. so

              the homesteader, preppers and off gridders ..some are one some are all three are pushing the tech to cut a lot of that waste down . they also get their cost of living way down . and it is a growing movement . that is scaring the government haha .

              The US government get on a lot of people butts who are trying to live free . so many who can are moving outside the country to places where it is kind of common not to have electricty service all day every day.. and bring in the tech that has been developed the last 15 years . to have a western lifestyle at a fraction of the cost .

              The system is breaking down.. and panicking which is Part of the western worlds Media/Elite outrage over trump. not my guy .. didn't vote.. don't believe the wall is viable. and against taxing imports and making most of what i buy more expensive to save american manufacturing jobs .. that are going to automation anyway .

              Politics has gone insane in this country ..personally i find if stupid when the people who are anti global warming ..happily proclaim we are about to go into a mini ice age ..yes that is how the cycle work and in the next 5-15 years we will be there ..but nasty thing happen in mini ice ages ..warming perion.. you get a boom in population .. mini ice age ..

              the black death hit in the middle or the end of one mini ice age .. and killed over half the population in Europe and Eurasia . then it warmed up for a hundre years .. and started cooling in about 1460 .. after columbus went to the new world and brough european disease ..which lined up with the cooling period.. massive amounts of the native population in north and south america died from these diseases .

              so a mini ice age is nothing to happily tout ..

              Personally the big failure of the golbal warming argument is placing the problem 30-50 years out in the future ..it's hard to get people to change behavior if you tell then if they keep eating like they are the will die in 3 years ..

              there is climate change it is cyclical and normal but we get a few hundred years of very nice summers and then a hundred or two hundred years of very bad winter and sometimes no summer ..

              we are not going to be saved by free energy devices .. but drastically reducing the amount of energy we use to have the modern lives we have .

    Hmm, l would cut down on the T word here, but sure, we had a mini ice age from about 1880 to 1900 in England, (Thames River Barbecue Partys, were common).

    And official data from NOAA, does not show impending doom in any significant way, shape or form.

    But the doomsayers are determined, so we cannot do much apart from getting some popcorn.

    As for Free energy, sure it could be militarized, (already is in AU) but it can also free this planet of poverty within 20 years, (sorry, not giving that source out here).

    Antigravity, is a hard one, that could do seriously ugly things military speaking, but do a lot of good also.

    As one person l follow says, "we need to change peoples mindset first before giving these systems fresh air".

    Although there is more than one way to skin a cat.

    Yes, global warming, can be pushed forever, more is the pity.

    We have the abilty and tech to end poverty on this planet now.. there are just to many people invested in keep segments of the population poor and desperate.. in order to forward their power , authority and profit .
    We grow enough food to feed 2 times as many humans as currently live on this planet ..so no one should go hungry ..and there are many ways being developed to grow mineral rich nutrient dence food without the need for fertile ground ...and in 20 years it will be common around the world for people to grow a good chunk of their food on their land.. as was the case traditionally .

    we have the tech and the know how to build homes .. that require a minimal amount of energy to heat and cool and inovative and tried and true non ac or furnace systems .. that don't need oil or gas to heat a home in the winter .

    the main causes of death on this planet.. are unsanitary drinking water and respiratory illnesses from cooking food over wood fires .. the would fire thing is also a main cause of deforestation and developing world co2 emissions .. if we give half the population of the planet rocket stove wich but a fraction of the wood and solar ovens .. not only will that have the means to cheeply cook their fod.. they will also be able to purify their drinking water .

    There is a lot of profit being made by keeping as many people on this planet living poor or miseable and unhealthy lives . free energy will not solve that ..

    to many freaking idiots who will run their Ac 24 hours a day .. wih their window open and wonder why they never feel cool in the summer .. the casinos Here in Vegas have their doors wide open day and night letting huge amount of their air conditioning try a cool outside in the desert .

    now tell me what would you do with the tens of millions of people working in the energy industry around the world .. and the half a billion to a billion people who live in countries that depend on oil revenues .. with free energy destroying all that .

    granted we are in a 20 year transition period Where even without free energy we will drasticly reduce the need and use of fossil fuels . because renewable energy is on the development path .. and the advance to reduce the need to use as much energy are advancing exponentially .

    Let me put my opionion about free energy in a very short .. say you have an army of 10,000 bloodthirsty psychopaths ready to kill as many people as possible but their limitation is based on how much ammo they can carry .

    free energy is like putting blaster from star wars or phasers from star trek .. in their hand so their limitation then only becomes who they can see to shoot at . with no need to carry ammo or reload

    Yes, l know, maybe that explains why the rich, don't do anything? They don't want oil stock to plummet, and a huge number of people lose their jobs, overnight.

    If NASA tells the truth, then the people will want to know how their craft operate, and if that occurs then free power and antigravity will also surface.

    Then we have a stock market crash, drone nuclear weapons, as you are saying, self powered, plasma guns, (scaled down from the ones on ships) and so forth.

    But the poor have free, limitless power, as do the rest of us, and the so called saving the planet can truly happen.


    NASA will Finally tell us the whole story, (most likely within the next 20 years) starting with what they will find on a Martian satellite, in the year 2033.

    It will obviously be satisfying to see the doubters scurry, but more so that the era of coverups and BS to end.

    In 16 years time, oil supplys will be a lot less, and it is impossible to rely on oil forever, eventually the stock market will have to hickup and a lot of people will get laid off.

    But the powers that be, want the power and control for as long as is possible.


    This is a relatively sick world, with individuals thinking that all is well, so much so that even clear cut evidence goes over their heads.

    But after long periods of watching mind numbing crap on tv, endless lies about habitable worlds, and artifacts found here and elsewhere, no surprise.

    Free energy is real, and developing it commercially is impossible, so l guess that the oil profits are safe.

    But making the world aware that these things exist is possible, (others are doing a good job of that).

    Trying to convince the fully indoctrinated is a lot harder.

    so how will people in poverty afford free energy devices .. hell how will those will jobs now that will be destroyed by free energy devices .. afford the free energy device .. or food or to buy stuff that runs on electricity ..

    see you will have the people who can afford them will have them ..well everyone else grovels on their knees ..please give us some electricity .

    even if free energy devices where made public there is probably still a lag time of decades before they can be mass produced and get in the nad of most human beings ...there is cost to building the factories .. mining what ever these thing need out of the earth ..processing those materials then manufacturing , marketing distrubuting , installing ..

    when i had this argument on the conspiracy boards i use to visit before it shut down .. the person thought these things would just be given away to everyone ..

      No Free or Magnetic systems aren't like Nuclear or coal fired power plants, they are relatively easy to build.

      And not a pain to operate.

      The only real expense is the Rare Earth magnets, although China is using a magnetic fluid system, (retrofitting some of their coal fired power plants, and charging their people for it).

      So some guy building one for himself in Africa, with cheap materials wouldn't be that hard.

      Some don't even require expensive magnets, or use other means such as fluid displacement, etc.


      There are no unsolvable problems with this, apart from the A***h*** that want to bury it. But regardless of the outcome, oil won't last forever, and Fission, who knows when that will work.

        You keep looking at what the powers that be supposedly bury and hide from the public.. i ill watch the trends that are actually happening in the world today .. that the powers that be is trying to fight in many cases .. but not able to stop .

        the trends are there . rather than pin my hopes on all the things the powers that be is supposed to be hiding free energy , anti grave.. god know what other tech from reverse engineered extra terrestrial tech ..

        instead i will look at the development curves for battery storage.. declining cost of renewable energy, robotics, automation, artificlian intel, new and inovative farming methods , or gardening methods , the furuture of in home health diagnostic equipment.. new education methods .

        I am not saying they are not hiding a lot that can help humanity.. there is just a lot we are not ready for and won't work .. but there is a battle going on on this planet ..

        you fight them by saying fine .. no free energy devices ..i will use less energy and wien myself off of many of the systems that provide stuff for me but end up putting 99.9 percent of the value i produce into the hand of organiztion controlled by the powers that be .

    We can and will disagree on this ..

    mypersonal view is the onky thing you can give poor or people in poverty, that will get them out of poverty .. is ways to make mone .. not free anything .

    I think some figure in one of those holy type book put it like this" give a man a fish he eats for a day , teach him to fish he eats for life " (i know who said it so please don't clerify )

    people are not poor because the don't have electricity or hve to pay for it . it that they don't make enough money not to be poor or in poverty

    P.s one thing i do know that is being developed is solar paint . in much of the world poor people at least know how to build their own houses/huts if the can get their power or a chunk of their electricty from the coating of pain on their house .. but it stil 5-15 years off .. we are going through a rapid period of transition where we will move away from oil dependence fast ..

    Gteat little product .. hope it sells a billion units ..can sell it in the western world .. buy two and we will give one to someone in poverty in the developing world .

    i am a little dense on how it is supposed to bring people out of poverty . rather than just take away one of the dangerous element about being in poverty .. these light a soler cooker or a high efficiency rockrt stove to cook food .. take the bite out of poverty , access to clean drinking water . and affordable washing machines .

    we can draw a line and say above this line we have ended poverty around the world which i think can be done in 30 years .. but the problem then start.. when you start raising the bar up .

    everything that takes the bite out of poverty is great . but the best way for people to get out of poverty . is to have many ways to make money .

    and this light is a great example of developing ithem that do require much electricty to run or generate the power they need .
