Thoughts are only thoughts

Einstein said "nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so."

Whatever happens, whatever we hear said we make up a story about it. This story is simply what goes on in our head and bears little resemblance to the truth. Wars have been fought, people killed because of what it was thought was said or happened. Our lives have been molded by our thinking. our thinking makes us happy or miserable.

We can break the habit of making things up in our heads. the first step is very easy it is just to become aware of our thoughts. On some programs on TV we may see items of news scrolling along the bottom of the screen. Mostly we ignore them. Do that with your thoughts, just let them pass without judgment and without giving them time or encouragement.

As an exercise find a quiet place, close your eyes and just allow your thoughts to come, acknowledge them for what they are, just thoughts. Don't do anything with the thoughts, just let them go. They are only thoughts.

    Hi Howard,

the exercise you described reminds me of some sort of buddhistic meditation..

Anyway, I think some important questions about it are: Do we really want to break the habit of making things up in our heads? After all, everything we ever experience is taking place in our minds, so why bother with objectivity?

This is an EXTREMELY interesting topic!! You just brought up one of my favorite parts of game theory lol...the problem is I'm not entirely sure how to explain it simply yet(which means I don't know it well enough lol) but it's still worth mentioning.

P.S: Thoughts are only thoughts but they have the power to affect and change the world forever. They already have

As a species, we are ENTIRELY ilogical. We only look for things that support our beliefs and COMPLETELY ignore all of the signs that disprove our beliefs.

Unbiased thinking is a sign of pure Genius and it's not easy to come by. This is what gets almost all geniuses killed lol.
They find the unbiased truth, speak it, and then get shunned for it(at best :p).

P.S: This is an extremely valuable concept in IMing!! Think about your niche and customers and what makes that niche tick

A lot of the problems I see with internet marketer mindsets is allowing themselves to become results oriented. This is when "something doesn't work, so I'll give it up because it made me no money," and move on to the next system or WSO or program. Bad mindset. I used to play poker professionally and saw it there all the time too. "I got my aces cracked again, I'm not raising with them anymore!"

It's terrible. Instead we should be objective thinkers and release our actions from the results because there are variables we can't control and often, we might be doing something right but need to influence another variable or tweak the system to really get past the negatives and achieve the outcome we want.

      LOL

And you're exactly right. I've seriously seen a thousand styles played profitably and I've only been playing poker for a little under 2 years. (the beauty of online lol)

The problem isn't the strategy you're implementing, it's HOW you're implementing it.
