How I got to where I am...

Being as having a positive mindset has got me to where I am today, I thought I'd post a brief message in this section.

I was working a minimum wage job, my social circle (developed through my teens and early 20's) had evaporated and I was weeks away from getting married to someone I didn't love just because they were there. That era was easily the worst of my whole life.

And you know what during that time I was reading and listening to every self help book, tape and cd I could get my hands on- I was driving myself into major debt buying what I believed would be the secret key to success.

What I learned during 2004-2005 is that positive thinking is not enough. What drives us as individuals is our unique and particular to us, subconcious BELIEF SYSTEM.

You can read and espouse all the postive thinking and affirmations you want but if that doesn't gel with your underlying subconcious beliefs about yourself your mind will find a way of sabotaging your progress...

SUBCONCIOUS BELIEFS ARE EVERYTHING...

By the way, just as a side note my coach would say affirmations can seriously debilitate your progress.

More to come?

Thanks, they were some tough times when I look back at it now. I have made my money by selling offline services through my own business and a second business with a partner since 2005.

I became interested in IM in 2009 and am about to launch the first of 7 products on 20th April, that relate to services I have been providing offline.

Positive thinking is essential in everything we do. But most importantly we have to believe in ourselves.

Have you ever watched Kung Fu Panda?

This may seem like a random question, but it has a really, really good (and relevant) message behind it.

As a point of interest I stopped wishing and hoping some years ago. It comes from a great little gem of a book called Verbal Antidotes (one of those books I love because you can read it in 40 minutes- Georges Philips the author excelled in imparting concise vital information, that with hindsight seems so obvious).

One thing I can pass on that I learned from that book is- In place of wish and hope I now only use NEED and WANT and when those two things come together what people call LUCK, happens.

That's right- I had to do some major work around my beliefs concerning money.

For anyone up for a challenge, complete the following sentence with at least ten (up to twenty) different words or short phrases WITHOUT thinking, filtering or trying to be positive- they should just roll out of the subconcious- no editing!

(BTW you don't need to post up your list here, if you don't feel comfortable about- this can be very personal stuff)
