Materialistic $UCCESS

Let's get a little materialistic for a moment...

if you had to pick one materialistic milestone in your life, where you could sit back and say to yourself "I MADE IT" what would it be.

examples...

When you have 1,000,000 in the bank
When you have a speed boat and second home in the Carribean
When you have a Lamborghini (that you own) sitting in the driveway

At what point could you say to yourself, I MADE IT???
#$uccess #materialistic

Mine is still pretty modest, as I don't have all that much still.

Once I own my own house, and have no more financial worries for me and my family, I will feel like I've made it. The mansion and Lamborghini can come later

Sometimes we really have to use the money that we earned to actually "feel" that we made it and it really is how luxuries has started. Even if we think we tend to be too materialistic in buying these "wants" rather than focusing on the needs, it's normal to us people to buy when we are willing and able. I wish to have those very soon though!

Isnt $1M Cash one thousand not one million? Just curious. Not that a goal of $1,000 is a bad thing, just curious because I see this all the time and I always thought $1M meant one thousand

For my short-term goals I can agree whole-heartily with this. I want to pay off my car and student loans and maybe that credit card that went to collections. But, before I really feel like I've "made it" I want to own a production studio for films, music, web properties, mags, tv stations, not to mention a development arm for theme parks and hotels. Essentially my "everest" is to build my company into a media conglomerate and I believe I have the drive to accomplish some of it, but will need the cash to finish it...

This is exactly what I came into this industry for. My business plan revolves around setting up as many passive income streasm as possible. Everything else is just benefit.

My FIRST real estate property here in my state michigan.

That's the next milestone. Although, not really a materialistic
goal, as I want a piece of property to rent out and doing
business as a real estate investor.

Other pleasures...well, I'm a thrill junkie. So, fast cars, thrill
rides, travels and adventures...that's what I currently enjoy
    doing.

When I am completely present to myself, life and everything in it, on a continuous day to day basis. At that point, everything I desire will start flowing towards me anyway. And even if it didn't, it wouldn't matter!

        • Honestbizpro, I am glad you changed your mind from owning an island. I must add that if you did, I hope you have even more money for what you have to do once you get it. It would be like buying a big house that is completely empty.

Also, the way the world is today - you may need a military to protect it. Some greedy country can easily send some planes down to overrun your position and take it from you.

It's not worth setting a goal and stopping once you achieve it. I would always strive for more not just sit back and think "I have a million dollars, I'm set for the rest of my life".

Currency is not a very secure investment IMO. If I would be rich I would definitely invest some of my money in buying diamonds and gold as they will always be an international currency.

IMO, material success is more in intangible things such as reputation, brand, recognition because once you have those, money will never stop flowing. So I think we should focus on achieving these values rather than just simply stacking pieces of paper on top of each other.

For example, let's say Warren Buffet. If he wold suddenly decide to shut down all his businesses and donate all his money down to the last penny, we could basically call him a poor man. But if he were to return to the business world one year later, people would be dying to make business with him and cover him in cash.

This is what materialistic success is. Not striving to make people give you their money but turning yourself/your business into a cash magnet.

I would like to make a decent income. Maybe $350,000 annually. I would like to have it on auto pilot as much as possible. I would then devote a majority of my time volunteering with children with Cystic Fibrosis and children with Diabetes.

Materialistic success would be a steady automated stream of 300$/day.

My long term goal is to help cure vision problems in people (i.e. those that could POTENTIALLY see, but for some reason, usually due to lack of funds, cannot). There is too much sadness out there in the world, but this is just something that seriously resonates...

The day I have USD 3.5 million invested in bonds and money market account to 5-8% which will allow me to cash 175k annually for the rest of my life.

Now I can choose to work, party, go on holiday or give my time an effort to the causes I care about. Making more money, yes if I want to, not must anymore.

Hmm, I wouldn't know what to do with a huge house or 1 million dollars.

Honestly I just do not define success as something that is materialistic. It is nice to have stuff, I totally agree with everyone on that. I love stuff.

I define success as wither or not you feel good about the things that you have done with your day.

But hey, you asked about materialistic success so I'll bite. I think it would have to be when I am able to fully pay for my home in one cheque. Like, you go out to buy a house and you are able to by pass all that mortgage garbage and just be like, "YO! Heres a cheque for $700,000. PEACE!"

    Haha
