"Standing Firm On Purpose..."
performance, we must have a passion for what
we look to achieve, and our passion should be
fueled by a definite purpose/ a reason for
achieving our goals.
But how do we know if our "purpose" is strong
enough to endure the hard times???
The best way to answer this question is to look to
the past at some of our most influential leaders:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. -it was his love for God
that led him to lead a revolutionary movement
that would change the way the world dealt with
racisms and racial discrimination. He was physically
beat, emotionally abused, abandoned, and the list
goes on and on...but none of which could stop him
from achieving his goals and aspirations
Dr. George Washington Carver -born into slavery,
would later lose both of his birth parents, raised as
a foster child, and even suffered very bad illness
as a baby...is noted for being the greatest scientist
of the 19th century
Abraham Lincoln - defeated in run for Illinois State
Legislature, defeated in run for Illinois House Speaker,
defeated in run for nomination for U.S. Congress,
lost re-nomination, defeated in run for U.S. Senate,
defeated in run for nomination for Vice President ...
and later...was Elected President of the United States.
What each of these men had in common was the desire
to help as many people as possible. Their goals were
bigger than themselves, thus they accomplished more
in a few short years them many ever will in their whole
lives.
The idea is to pursue that in which you will benefit from
while also helping others along the way.
Zig Ziglar said it best, "you can have everything in life
you want if you will just help enough people get what
they want"
A strong sustaining purpose is one that will allow you to
achieve your goals and dreams while encouraging;
personal, spiritual, metal, and physical development. It
will require that you submit to self and look to lead with
a sense of passion and concern for others.
Find this and you will have established a foundation that
will withstand any of life's discouragements...you will have
the purpose that will fuel your passion for success.
