Choose Your Own Adventure - Newb IM Version

I want to make a case-study for noobs, and I'm struggling here.

Okay; so let's say I know everything terminology-wise about internet marketing. I know what it is, I've read lots of books and so on and so forth.

My problem is how vague they are. There are very few with actual numbers. So, I'm looking for numbers here. REAL numbers.

I want your ideas for what each day should consist of, how long you should wait for income before you believe something's wrong, etc.

And it needs to have details. "Day 1: Check Amazon's magazine section and google the category titles until you find one with less that 30,000 results." I know that's ridiculous, but that's what I mean. NOT just "Day 1: Keyword research."

As you suggest it, I will try it and keep detailed logs. I will note when I accidentally don't keep with the plan and so on and so forth.

I'll keep to the plan and update until I make $100 in one month.

What method or traffic source are you comfortable with? Also, you need to understand that there are many subjective aspects involved in creating a successful business, numbers are not everything.

Many people think that successful internet marketers have a secret formula that they just implement without thinking and solving problems and then simply earn $1K in one day. This is not how things work.

I can tell you what's the process to start making money with PPC, but it won't be 100% precise, something that any dumbass can follow without solving any problems and start making a killing online. You will always have subjective factors to deal with and you will have to solve many problems regardless the system that you choose.

I understand that it's not a perfect science, but I also think there's more to it than chance. I get that you can't write a formula for a good article, but when you look at keywords, for example, what do you look for?

I know that if I try to make an affiliate site, I may spend days and days doing work on it that will amount to nothing. I also know that there are people out there who spend maybe two hours on a site and then weeks later it starts sending them money.

And I know that the difference is not in their writing ability half as much as in their process. And so many books and WSOs just say, "Step 1: Keyword research." "Step 2: Write keyword-heavy articles" "Step 3: Generate traffic with your list"

And that's not very helpful if you are starting from nothing.

I recently started and have been trying to come up with something of a routine to keep doing something towards IM each day.

        So far I have
        1. Do some research
        2. Write an article
        3. Read forums for tips etc.
        4. Try to find new ways to expand my experience through other types of marketing.

I don't usually get through step 4 in the time I spend doing it but it's something that I have to do sometime if I want to be successful.

The process of "Continuous Improvement" is invaluable if you want to stay on top of your goals. Try something new, keep detailed logs of results, tweak it, break it, try it again. And keep what works. Then try something new again.
