Are you applying yourself?

I remember growing being a high school student. I would eat dinner, open up a book for about ten minutes and do a little reading, and then play video games for several hours. I recall my mother asking several times did I study. I replied usually with a big fat lie and said yes I did.

When I received my report card several weeks later I was embarrassed. Due to my performance, I was put on punishment for several weeks. One night I was going to bed and my mother looked at me and said, "Son are you applying yourself?" I looked at her with a confused face and said yes I am.

It took me awhile to figure out what she was talking about. When I finally did, my outlook on studying changed. Going through the motions won't cut it. Just reading something won't cut it.

So many people go through life going through the motions. We do things without passion. We complete tasks with no enthusiasm. How does this fit in with internet marketing? Some of us read, watch videos, and listen to audios on how to be a succesful internet marketer. We suck up so much knowledge, but at the end of the day we never apply ourselves and go out and take action. You can be the best copywriter, the greatest article writer, the most in-demand SEO specialist, but without applying yourself and taking action, you will be in the same spot this time next year.

Take an honest look at yourself. When you finish studying that new course that you just purchased, are you applying what you learned or are you just satisfied with being able to say I purchased a $400 course and I finished studing it in one weekend?

Make today the day you go above and beyond in whatever you do in life. Apply yourself and you will achieve so much more in life. See you at the top! Have a great holiday everyone.
