Which mind/self-help techniques do you do on a daily basis?

Ok, I take it that everyone here understands the law of attraction and believe in its powers.

We all know that to exercise the law of attraction, there are several techniques or methods you can actually apply, such as visualisation, affirmations, meditation, etc.

Personally I use the power pause technique.

What's your technique that you use every day or at least on a regular basis? Has it been effective for you?

You've got the concept all wrong buddy. We all know action is important, that's why we are all making money from our online businesses!

The idea of law of attraction isn't about sitting around and praying that some thing you want will fall from the sky. It's about making your actions more effective. It's about aligning your mentality and your beliefs with your actions, so they don't work against each other.

When your thoughts, beliefs and desires are not aligned with your actions, you're working against yourself. That's why so many people give up! Take making money online for example, how many newbies start off with great enthusiasm, thinking that its their ticket to the millionaires club, but then gives up after a couple of months?

For example, you want to start making money online, so you're creating blogs, looking for business opportunities, setting up PPC campaigns, buying domains, but deep inside, what you're really thinking is something along the lines of "am i really going to make money? the economy is so bad now... things will just get worse". Then even if you do desire to make money online and are taking the step, everything will work against you! And it's just not gonna work.

Law of attraction doesn't need to be about affirmation, meditation etc. Everyone has their own different ways. It's taking that bit of time during the day to recharge yourself, and align your beliefs with your actions, so that what you're doing is actually effective and not counterproductive.

It makes things a hell of a lot easier and smoother for you. And you do feel much more positive. Trust me, your attitudes and thoughts are very powerful. Your beliefs can sabotage your actions. If you don't get this right, you're just creating more obstacles for yourself.

What you're saying is important too. Action is crucial, and most people like to watch rather than do. But action perfectly aligned with beliefs is what does it.

You are obviously in the wrong area of Warriorforum.

The area in which you have posted this is 'MIND WARRIORS - SUCCESS, POWER, SELF-IMPROVEMENT.

If what others post here in regards to what courses they use to improve themselves, their minds, and their thoughts equates to being beggars awaiting handouts, there are probably more 'action-oriented' and less Mind-oriented post threads for you to enjoy.

"Consciousness and Awareness" is very hard to explain in the English language. The translation comes from the Sanskrit. Having work for Penguin Books in England for 10 years, too my knowledge they have the best translation, and even that one is not crystal clear.

          I will attempt to give you my understanding;

To me, the Law of Attraction is simply a high level of *energy* coming from the brain. Those of you who have never served in the military might not be as familiar with the chain of command as some of the others.

When you are self-employed in the beginning my guess is that you thinking like a private, but when you become successful you have to learn how to think like a General Officer.

          (It's hierarchical)

When are thinking like a General you are eating right, not smoking, exercising, and keeping your Brain Healthy, right? When that happens you will open up the Universal Minds around you, and in the world, and you can't be stop.

          That's my two cents.

          Jimmy.

      Hey Li,

Good to see an active participant in the self improvement section

Your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions must be in place in order for the correct action to be taken, but there is more than that to be truly successful, the way you look at success.

Most people who believe in the LOA will agree that there is some type of intelligence in our universe.

What some people don't realize is that this intelligence has a set out plan for you.

You do have certain natural talents, right?

You were born with them for a reason. Thats your plan, right there.

You must exploit your natural talents and take the path set out for you.

Lets use a top basketball player for example:

A good basketball player is Lebron James- hes been in the NBA since 17 and hes 23 now (i think). You would say his natural talent is basket ball, right?

Well, what if Lebron James thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and desires were to be the top engineer/architect in the world, instead of top basketball player in the world, like The Secret suggests?

Do you think that goal were to be realized, if his real, natural talent is to play basketball? - which is his "life purpose"- also his natrual talent?

      Are you following?

Now, lets swtich roles. Lets take a top architect in the world. Whoever that may be. And lets say hes 5-9" with no coordination skills, but he loves basket ball and his dreams and desires is to be an NBA star.

According to The Secret, he just needs his thoughts, beliefs, and desires and to take action right? Maybe he'll automatically grow or coordination skills will just "come to him"? Thats wrong.

What about natural talent? What about there life purpose- which is connected to your natural talents?

An artichtect is most likely a "left brain" orientated person and a NBA star would probably have more "right brain" attributes.

If a person has no natural talent for the NBA- and has dreams and goals to be in the NBA and to be a top star- they are going to have more friction than if they followed there natural talents and life purpose.

      Make sense?

Some people might think this is common sense, but The Secrets happens to leave out some important stuff like this.

By the way- Only 10% of the population is considered an entrepreneur. Yes, they are born with different attributes, traits, characteristics, and "natural talents"

Anyways- Good Luck with realizing all your goals

If Power pause means 15 minutes of no thoughts (just focus in your breathing) on a daily basis (which is extremely hard to do at the beginning), then I'd say that Power Pause is my method too.

15 minutes of meditation and goal visualization (with emphasis on the feelings) are my favorite methods at the moment.

What is Power Pause? It is meditation with a twist? I'm curious.

    Best regards,

The "Power Pause" is a reframing technique developed and sold by John Harricharan in his book "The Power Pause, 3 Minutes, 3 Steps to Personal Success and Real Happiness."

As I understand it, the 3 basic steps are:
      1. Go to a peaceful place in your mind (as a buffer between you and your fearful thoughts)
      2. Visualize your life as it would be if your problem/reason for your fear/challenge etc. no longer existed. Who would you be being and how would you feel if your problem were solved or no longer existed?
      3. Give gratitude to your own definition of a higher power (e.g thank God)

That is just my understanding - I am NO expert. The idea is that you become what you think, and that by taking this pause to short-circuit your fear or anxiety, you can also set your mind up for the solution to whatever your problem is.

Hopefully someone who understands this better than I do will chime in here to describe the "Power Pause" more fully.

As for me - I don't do any self-help technique daily, unless you count 10-20 minutes of Anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing) meditation.

      Best Regards, Georgetta

The best thing I've learned how to do is give genuine thanks and gratitude for all that I have, and will have, as though I already have it. If you act like it's already yours, you attract it to you.

I give thanks for my perfect health every day. I don't use negatives like, "I don't want to get sick". As soon as the word "sick" enters your mind you attract sickness to you. Use the word "health" and do things to create that within yourself.

Don't say, "I want to make more money", say "The money is coming" or "The money is already here" or "I have plenty".

The power of positive thinking...and not only thinking, but acting like what you want is already there, acting with integrity, and proving that you want it will bring it into being.

I think all the things posted here is important. But, my method is very simple. Just create a picture in your mind of money going in your Palpal account.

You can't remove your belief system, but you can re-directed it. Think about a fast moving train, you can't stop it, but you can change it's path.

Thus, allowing you to visualize seeing money going into you account.

Perhaps the most powerful technique I have come accross so far is practicing ones "Inner smile"

Several elements have to be in place for it to be effective which is perhaps what makes it so powerful.

I believe that it is so powerful right down to a cellular if not molecular level that it shifts how your body functions.

Think of the horse going before the cart and you'll maybe start to get the picture.

You can read more about it if you do a search for "mantak chia inner smile.

I smile in the mirror for 5 minutes a day.

I use a lot of affirmations to reprogram my beliefs about what I`m capable of.

I use visualization techniques, as described in Think and Grow Rich. Similar to what James Clark said, I visualize the actual money being made. I even created a graphic of a Google Adsense daily income stat with my desired amount of money written. I posted this graphic on the walls near my computer. I also visualize my compelling future, the ideal lifestyle that I will be able to live once I reach my goals.

I use the habitual questions recommended by Anthony Robbins in Awaken The Giant Within. "What am I happy about in my life right now" "What am I excited about in my life right now?" "What am I grateful for...?" etc.

I just want to emphasize how easy this is to do for $0. Everyone has access to Windows Movie Maker. If you have a mac, I'm sure you can get a free copy of it online.

I took screen shots of my TD bank account online, PayPal account, Aweber summary page, etc. and edited the numbers I wanted to see. Then I added all the pictures in Movie Maker and loaded the most inspirational music I love to listen to. This is the one song that makes you smile when you listen to it. Visualization is always key.

Just "Publish" the movie with movie maker, and program your computer to play the movie automatically at 7:00am every morning. Watching it in the evening is also very good.

You can put more than just high account balances in your collage though. In mine I have a picture of a muscular man doing push-ups and a slim fit guy jogging in exotic locations. You put whatever you want to remind yourself to work towards every day. That way you keep your subconscious working overtime-even at night.

I wrote an article that explains this really well...unfortunately the forum boards won't let me post links until I get to 15 posts. Actually, I'll just copy it here:
      --------------------
Making Mission Boards with Movie Maker

Here's a mini-tutorial of how you can set up your own movie that sends you a powerful sound + visual message of what you want. These projects take a few hours to create properly. However when they are done you can watch them every morning for 1-2 minutes. They will keep your goals fresh in your mind. I would even encourage you to throw in some "uplifting" music in your movie so you have a positive song in your head as you go about your day.

      You will need:

      • Pictures of what you want to attain. If you want a 3.5 million dollar home, find a picture that resembles your dream house as much as possible. If you are looking for a partner, then find pictures that trigger powerful feelings and emotions of love when you see them (so what you can be in that state throughout your day and attract others who are looking for it).

      • Windows Movie-Maker, Cyberlink Power Director 7 or Camtasia. Any program that lets you hash up music and pictures to make a movie or slide show. Movie-Maker is very easy to use. If you have any problems at all, simply do a keyword-search on YouTube and you will find all the help you need.

      • Imagination and Inspiration!

What you are doing here is you are creating a slide show with the appropriate music so that when you watch this 2-minute movie you will remind yourself of your goals.

This is what Claude Bristol refers to as: "Suggestion is Power." In his book The Magic of Believing he encourages individuals to write their goals on a small cue-card or business card and keep it in front of them at all times.

Rhonda Byrne's The Secret encourages people who have very specific goals to keep them in front of their eyes throughout the day. In this documentary about the Law of Attraction, John Assaraf talks about Vision Boards. Much like the movie explained above, a Vision Board is a cork-board with all kinds of pictures tacked to it that represent what you want and the accomplishments you want to see fulfilled in your life by you.

Don't limit yourself with what you think is impossible to attain. If you are constantly in a state of elation because you are working at what you love; great opportunities will find you.

I use the power of declaration.

This is a technique that I learned from T.Harv Ekar Seminar. All you have to do is to write down things that you want to happen or want to achieve like

    1) I earn enough passive income to pay for my desired lifestyle
    2) ....
    3) ....

Read them out in front of a mirror every morning and night.

Intially, you will feel pretty weird but you will get used to it over time and you can begin to feel the difference it makes in you.

    Really powerful stuff.

One morning I decided to wake up and look for excuses to feel GOOD!

I realized that so often I was looking for reasons to feel bad without even realizing I was doing it. I'd walk in the kitchen first thing in the morning and mentally bitch about the mess in the sink, or be frustrated because the baby woke up early and it really set a bad tone for my day.

So one morning I woke up and decided to look for the good stuff instead. Things like "oh, it's nice that I have Sumatran coffee beans this morning," or "well, at least if Sophie's up early I can count on getting an early start on work when she goes down for her nap. . ."

I've always considered myself an optimist, but I hadn't realized that I was being pretty negative in the moment, but still full of hope for the future! This really has made a difference in my productivity and focus. . . still waiting for the change to affect me financially, but there are a lot of issues and beliefs in the way of that one!

      Really powerful stuff.
I have something to add to this.
If you read that and don't believe what you're saying, it'll never work. You need to create positive vibes when you say your affirmations to attract more positive vibes to you. Belief creates positive vibes as doubt creates negative ones.

I have a trick that I use for EVERY thing and it works the FIRST time EVERY time.. and by "works" I mean, makes me feel positive about any situation. No "it may feel weird at first" stuff- this feels right the first time and every time.

Use the phrase, "I'm in the process of..." in front of ANY affirmation. Ex: "I'm in the process of earning plenty of passive income to pay for my desired lifestyle" (I personally would not use "enough" as it creates a negative limit. You don't want "enough", you want MORE, don't you?)

So how does that new phrase make you feel? Much more believable right? Aren't you excited about reaching that goal now?!

You're ALWAYS "in the process" of doing something, as long as you're DOING.

Try this on everything.. but you HAVE TO BELIEVE IT AS SOON AS YOU SAY IT!

It's not the actual words of your affirmations that lead you to where you want to be, it's how you FEEL about them that makes all the difference.

This has helped me SOOO MUCH. I am so thankful I learned it from the book "Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don't" by Michael J. Losier. Check out his site: Home*-*Law of ATTRACTION - Michael Losier

Hope this helps everyone as much as it did me!!

I love loneliness at the time of thinking and that the time when I use the technique "Self Teaching"

I always reach for 'the better feeling thought'

If I find myself thinking 'wow, I'll never do this'
I try to change my thinking to 'I'm learning how to do this and will accomplish it with ease'
If I find myself thinking, 'I have such a lot of work to do today'
I change it to, 'today I will accomplish everything I need to do - easily!'

Sometimes it's really difficult to change a really negative thought but I find that playing music (loud) and singing along (only when I'm alone as I wouldn't want to be upsetting anyone! LOL) makes me feel tons better and it's much easier to go for the 'better feeling thought'

I also have a Gratitude Stone on my kitchen windowsill and each time I glance at it, it reminds me to be grateful for everything in my life. I think specifically about something - it could be my children, my dogs or even just my Laptop. But, I can alway think of something that I am gratefull for, even when I find myself feeling very negative.

he first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to thank God for his blessings in my life. Then I say "I choose to be happy today". I then affirm my goals. I have been doing this for a while and I am now closer to my goals than ever before

Here is something I wrote about managing anxiety, though it is effective for keeping you on track to achieving what you desire:

    "Talk to Yourself...The RIGHT Way

What are the voices in your head saying? How we "talk" to ourselves affects how we feel and act. When we choose what voices in our head we will listen to, we gain control of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors and we conquer anxiety and panic attacks.

Some voices are negative and not worth listening to:

    Angry Victim Voice
Blames others, complains, easily angered, bitter, sure they're being treated unfairly. This often leads you to frustration and anger.

    Hopeless Voice
Believes something is wrong with you, expects you to fail, life will never be fair to you, pessimistic. This can lead to depression.

    Self-Critical Voice
Reminds you of what a failure you are, your mistakes, your flaws. Can lead to low self-esteem or low motivation.

Who's Your Buddy? YOU's Your Buddy
Rather than listen to the negative voices and feed the anxiety, depression and panic, you can listen to "Your Buddy".

    Buddy Voice
Reminds you of your freedom and choices
    Supports your efforts
Is optimistic - expects positive future outcomes and reminds you of your past successes
Believes in you and lets you trust yourself
Focused on solutions rather than the problems

Your Buddy is in your head and he is ready to guide you to SAFETY, CONFIDENCE and FREEDOM. Buddy is not a fan of anxiety, depression or panic and is ALWAYS there to help you."

    Thank you.

i think it is important not to get pschyed out by all the talk of people saying they make "X gazillion dollars" daily selling online and just focus on getting to $50 a day in sales to start and work from there...

the first $50 will be the hardest...after that it gets easier...

    Hi,

I have a set of empowering questions I ask myself most mornings (not all - I have a 3 year old son who sometimes finds ingenious ways to fill my time!), and another set for just before bedtime. I've built that list, honed it, over more than a few years, so they are the ones that really work for me.
