Most people start a new business opportunity and they no longer remain themselves. They metamorphosis into some kind of know it all expert leader in that particular niche.

Then they wonder why they don't get sales.

The real reason why you don't get sales is because you've come fake. People can indicate this from a mile a way.

If you just some guy on the net promoting a product your probably not going to get any sales.

If you remain who you are and grow towards those who are already around you and keep doing what you've always done best, then you will get sales as you refer the products that you promote.

Note: refer, not sell!

Just be you, and your money will rise!

You must be honest and believe in what you are selling if you do not people will pick up on the bad "vibe". Treat the customer like you would want to be treated and then be nicer than that.

Exactly! It still blows my mind that even though you're here in one continent and your potential customer in on the other side, they can still sense your "creepy" vibe. It happens unconsciously most of the time though. Awesome scortillion!!!

    1. Customers can smell a fake a mile away. If you aren't being yourself, they don't want to do business with you (although they don't always know why. Sometimes its just a feeling.)
    2. Being fake makes for a sucky time in business. What fun is having your own company if you have to be someone else in order to get customers? Only do business with people who want to do business with you!
    3. There's no #3, but my friend's a copywriter and always told me not to end bullet points on an even number.

Once in awhile I am taken by surprise, but most of the time I can sense when something isn’t just right. It comes across in the person’s sales letter or attitude when you send an email about a question. It’s hard to describe the feeling, but I guess it can be summed up as a wrongness. Something just isn’t right and you should listen to this inner voice.

Well, I have a problem grasping this "fake you" concept...
If the "fake you" is not actually the "real you".. then WHO the !@#$ are "you"?

If someone is dishonest and greedy when he sees money coming in... that has to be in his nature from the very beginning otherwise it wouldn't come out...

It could be that some people are not "prepared" to handle success and they think they have to act and behave a certain way once they make it. But that's in their real self again... isn't it?

    Solid post.

Unfortunately, if you polled the average person they would they like themselves OK.

If you asked them, "Why should other people like you?" (Not would, but should) You get a flow of non-desrcript answers...

    "I'm a pretty good person."

"I do ok at my job."

Since they don't have specifics, then when it comes to selling they become different. They try to project the attitude and energy and positioning of someone they thing should be accepted in the market.

Bottom line... most folks aren't themselves because they just don;t know who they are.
