Hi,

I made a thread in this section telling how i wanna make money....well i was 16 then....im 17 now... well i have made a good amount of money writing articles...being the middle man and getting seo work done etc. Now i decided that i should go for affiliate marketing, i dont wanna jump into list building right away so i decided i was just gonna get into affiliate marketing..well i made a simple blogger blog...I know quite a bit about seo so i did everything i could and 5 of my blogs,hubs..etc. were ranking directly under the product keyword, and other extension's of the same keyword...anyway...the other site's saw what i did and just copied everything i was doing(i honestly dont know how they did it) And i wake up the next morning....run to my laptop and check if i am still ranking ...WHAM!! all my hard work was blown to pieces by a competing site... i mean...He did everything i did but 12 times that!! i mean i had 5 sites,,..he made 10 and ranked them all overnight....3 of his sites were on page one and i was lost!!!

It was 8 in the morning and my day was already going bad...i mean i could always go back to doing brokering and writing articles and making petty cash...But some side of me just doesn't wanna let go... The launch of the product is on 22nd feb...i hope i can fix things by then and make some cash.. (This is a test run thou..i mean im just figuring out the right way of doing it )

My whole point is...while you're "at it" ...do you sometimes just lean back on your chair and think why you're doing this......I mean,.... This was a real kick in the nut's for me...i just wanted to find that guy and teach him a lesson....,...i just think im in a slump...How do you guy's deal with failure?

Teach him a lesson? Seems he has previously learned his lesson and is putting it to use. Sorry, I don't see your failure, unless you give up. If you want it bad enough you will go back and do ten times what he has done. That's part of how the game is played.

I didn't say i gave up...but in a way i did fail...but i guess it's all part of learning..... I am relatively new to the "game" and im still learning how to play it

First of all, congrats on the success you've had so far, it's great you are getting out there trying different things and already making money.

What you experienced with your affiliate marketing is pretty much par for the course in anything to do with internet marketing. People will copy anything , content, systems, techniques etc, if they see there's money to be made. You just have to stay focused on what you're doing and try not to let it get you down. If they've now done more than you maybe you can just use that new information to improve on what they've done and reassert your position.

The first ebook I ever created and sold, someone copied my entire website, bough my ebook, used same ecart/payment processor as me to sell my ebook and got a similar search position within 6 hours of me going 'live'. I was furious at the time when I woke up the next day and saw them. I managed to get their site taken down after about 3 or 4 days but it did leave a bad taste for a while over the whole saga.

You just have to stay focused on the things you can control, it's nothing personal, it's just one of the realities of internet marketing everyone has to deal with sometimes. If anything, take it as a compliment that what you're doing is working and keep at it!

Yes, always. Many times I am not satisfied with the result of my work so I am always questioning my self. But anyway, that is part of growing up. Thank you for sharing.

That sucks, sorry to hear it.

You could try to out-backlink him. Get a copy of scrapebox if you can afford 97$, then give yourself thousands of links. He won't know what hit him.

I dont know why ..i have a forum profile creating software...i even outsourced some legit web 2.0 links but every time any of those links get indexed google pulls my site back to page 3-5 and then it slowly start's crawling to #1....this has happened on several occasions... :p

It doesn't hurt to re-evaluate & try something new. We don't want life to get boring.

EXACTLY!! I know what he's been doing wrong....Im just gonna wait until the last moment and pounce at him like a tiger!! ...like i said im still learning and testing things out...but i do know that im ten times better than him when it comes to on-page seo.....i know through experience that his sites will start to sink gradually and he wont be able to pull them up for a good 3-4 days(his rankings are already going down)....i have my new sites filled with keyword rich...content...and ready to go....i haven't published them yet...ill let him sink to like page 3-4 and then start publishing my sites one by one...no seo no nothing...ill be on page one in 5 hours...for sure....then ill start building 20 web 2.0 links anyway...order a few gig's at fiverr...get it on twitter and facebook(most of you guy's know how the big G just loves social media) I'll also get a instant rush of traffic as my link will be shared with the fiverr guy's 10,000 fan's .. ,....ill also do it on the launch day and voila!!! i may even end up getting a few sales with the traffic.....

You are just having a bad day and with good reason - but that is all that it is - now you know that you are going to have to do more, and hey you must be on the right track in terms of niche if someone else put in that much work to beat your position - what you have to do is not "get" him, but do one better than him and your business will be better because of it.

Take some time out - get some fresh air and spend some time with friends, then get back on your computer and continue your success

    Best of luck
    Ellen
