I have read alot of posts here, and appreciate all the advice you give everyone. reading the post "i'm a loser" I can totally relate.

I am lost. I am on info overload I think. I have read and downloaded way too much perhaps and don't even know where I am supposed to start.

a niche? don't have a clue which one. so many to choose from. what do I like? I like weight loss (which I myself recently did), divorce issues-sadly lived through that horribly I might add as well-, crafts-yep, pregnancy-did that, single parenting-doing that now, dating after divorce, reuiniting with high school sweetheart-doing that, .... don't even know if these "are" good niches.

a blog? hah, tried to set that up and am lost. again I think I have spent way too much time trying to read, and search online and not enough time doing and now just don't know where to begin. and I need this desperately. single mom, no income except alimony/child support, lost everything, , some of you may know where I am coming from.

I have run a retail online store for over 10 years but after the divorce, that is not going well and is pretty much gone as the whole 50/50 split thing came into effect.

so I have been following liz tomey websites, tried wealthy affiliate but got lost on that website so am going to "unjoin", I do like become a blogger website but haven't joined.

I get lost in the whole promote part. I find the product on click bank, but how to load it and link it and show it? Do I just put the link on my website? Or do I put the landing page on my website? I think I get lost there mostly.

I have already purchased some domains, have hosting. Writing articles...not so good at. PLR I have some, tried the article spinners but can't figure out how to use them either.

I think I have massive brain confusion at this point. I really am smart and know I can do this, I started my retail site alone 10years ago with no help, no experience and ran it with a profit very well till the divorce. But this is just completely stumping me for some reason.

thanks for listening.

    Hi, Sam
I just read a part of your post because if you don't mind my saying so, that's all I could stand to read. You are so depressed, man! And I know why. Divorce does that to you. I was divorced 26 years ago, and even though I felt I only played a small part in why the divorce happened, I couldn't shake the feeling that I failed. I believe every divorced person feels that way, though few will admit that they were the problem. My point is, no matter who's fault it was, you just became single again. It feels like someone cut off your right arm. You will feel confused about everything. You are jumping around the Internet looking for the right thing to do. It will be almost impossible until you get over the grief of divorce. Yes, it feel as though somebody died, and somebody did. Your marriage had a life of its own apart from you and your wife. I will be adding your name to my prayers. Believe me, I know what you're going through.

Sam, I don't kno whether you are male or female and I notice this is your first post, so welcome to the forum. Online marketing is a maze of confusion and takes years to learn. Its really a case of trial and error. Unless you have something to offer you might be just as well advised to sit back, let the divorce etc. get out of your system, recover from the grief. settle into your new lifestyle and look around.

Check out the forum and everything else you might come across and wait until you have the passion about something to want to do it.

That's the best advice I can give you and I have been through just about everything you describe. Believe me time heals even these deep wounds although you may never stop blaming yourself.

    God bless

    Sam,

Welcome to the forum. Keep hanging around here - it will get better. I think most people here can relate to how overwhelmed and confused you are feeling. I totally agree with Norma, that online marketing takes years to learn. There is a lot of trial and error involved, and chances are you will make a ton of mistakes before any of it makes sense. I know I have.

The most important part of your post is your statement "I know I can do this".

Believing you can do it means you can. Keep trying.

  • Samz, you might think I'm being a bit too optimistic, but friend I have to congratulate you. I read your post and all I see are DOLLAR SIGNS.

You've got a lot of heart, and a lot of events that you've gone through and things you've learned that other people want to hear about and want to know somebody else understands them.

You MUST SEE THAT. Go back and read your post.

You are sitting on a GOLDMINE, and all you've got to do is stop worrying about DISTRIBUTION and REFOCUS YOUR THOUGHT on CONTENT PRODUCTION.

You just put your heart on paper, text file, or whatever, and your friends here can give you ideas on where and how to distribute all that great material you've got floating around in your brain waiting for you to release.

Don't FORCE it, just relax, and let if flow.

A GOLDMINE, Samz. Relax, and let it reveal itself to you.

    Hi Sam,

One trouble of setting up an online business or blog is "information overload" syndrome. With the amount of free information on the internet, there is no doubt that we could suffer from information overloading.

First of all, I suggest that you find ONE thing that you would like to do. You mentioned setting up a blog, so go set up a blog. Regarding about your niche, just write something down in your blog and then change along the way when you find what really interest you.

You mentioned become a blogger program, that is a program by Yaro and Gideon, am I right? When Yaro, first started out, he did not focus on writing about entrepreneurship too. He wrote about his business Betteredit and soon he found that he do not really have an interest in it and he slowly focus his niche on entrepreneurship. So I recommend you to just start your writing and pare down along the way.

Focus at one task at a time help too. Create a to do list will help you to keep you on track and you can check your progress too.

If you need any help, feel free to PM me.

    Cheers

thank you for your support and ideas! I really do appreciate it.

I admit I do have way too much overload going on here. and I have to stop with all the reading. I know I spend too much time reading, that is my problem number one.

problem two is that I had started my retail site alone and I dont know why in my head I am not "getting this" so quickly.....but again, probably too much information overload.

the main hurdle I keep coming up with is I don't get how do I promote?

I get lost in the whole promote part. I find the product on click bank, but how to load it and link it and show it? Do I just put the link on my website? Or do I put the landing page on my website? I think I get lost there mostly.

I see some of what I have gone through and when I was looking for specific help I couldn't find it, I'd love to work on things along those lines. The promoting, and getting these things onto my blog or site is the confusing part for me. Do I buy a ton of domains for each landing page? Link to all these landing pages? that confuses me alot.

Article writing. I have some, but then if I were to use some PLR are there any software/website products that are worth getting that rewrite so that I were not rewriting multiples to prevent duplicate content for article submission? (hope that made sense-again newbie here)

thank you again all of you, your posts help me and mean ALOT to me and I am reading and re reading these as well as all the posts on these forums. You are all wonderful!

Sam, This is the bugbear that IM's start with.

I spent years in retail and in selling prior to that and there is really no marriage between the two. The Internet is governed by people who want to squeeze every cent they can from any so-called newbie who turns up and that's where the problem lies.

Many of the books on sale are written by people like you who come online and expect to make a fortune overnight. They hear they must have their own product so they buy a piece of software to pump out an e-book or fifty. They then offer them at exorbitant prices and then brag about how much they are making.

The product you need to push is what you know, what you are interested in, what you consider important and present it in the best light with honesty and a sincere approach to anyone who might buy from you. I find that you can make friends of such people and like in a retail shop they will come back to you time and again.

To do this you need a web site, a domain name and learn how to do html so that you can control it. You do not need more than one at this stage. Get your feet wet first. That is the best move you can make right now. Don't worry about the overload all that means is that you have been standing on the shore watching the waves come in and have not known at what stage to enter the water.

Jump in and get wet and then ask for any help you need. We are here for you. By the way your web site becomes you shop so develop it along those lines. Give it plenty of pages of information and stick ads around it.

        God bless,

        Norma

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I do have the retail experience. Been online for over 10years with my online store. I know html and creating websites very well. Customer service, store/retail, selling, all of that I have tons of experience in. and I have yet to purchase any of the "make money doing this" ebooks or courses, because quite honestly I am leary of them. I do however read alot of the websites, download anything that is free, and have joined alot of mailing lists/websites.

So basically I have alot of experience in life events, website creation, but I don't have the "creating a landing page" or how to start this type of business down. I can create a business, I can create a website, I can sell product, I know I can do alot of things, I am definately smart enough and have the can do attitude, I've done it before. But feel lost.....if this makes any sense??

This new "venture" so to speak I really would LOVE to get into, I am just so confused.

I want to do this,I really enjoy working online, creating websites, and I definately don't expect to make tons, I know it is alot of work, I'd love to make "just alittle bit" and I"d be happy..

again I love these forums and am glad I found them. I am getting alot of info here and appreciate the support.

It was last year that I suffered information overload and bought every ebook , programs and WSO's that caught my eye. I never got started. Too much information. I threw in the towel, took a break from it all, created new email accounts and didnt visited this forum for a couple months. Now my head is clear, I still remember the things I learnt, I have choose one program, created my business plan and has already implemented it. I have decided if it doesnt help my plan I am not interested. I am focus now.

BlackScorpion that is me, I am an info junkie...I haven't "bought" anything although I did join wealthy affiliate. I do sign up for tons of blogs, and downloads and free ebooks and all of that though...and info overload is where I am. completely confused.

now today I am trying to just focus. writing down things to stay on track with and not do so much searching and reading. I have a habit of reading and clicking links which leads me to more and more sites, and more downloads and just more stuff that fills my head.

I don't want to make millions overnight. I know its not possible..I know I have to work and I am one of those that enjoy a challenge and love to work and know I accomplished something that I set mymind out to do, but this has me stumped right now.....so focus and get my mind clear is my first goal.

But my main question, if/when I want to promote something (because I am definately not interested nor am I able to create my own product) do I link to a landing page using my affiliate id or copy the page and add it to my own site as if it were one of my own pages with my links embedded? That is where I get confused as well.
As I said I have created my own website/online store and everything is mine, I have everything on my own servers, pages are all mine, I do all the html....this is different and I am very unsure at this part of it since I was/am use to something in a whole different field.

thanks everyone! you are all very helpful.

        Hey Sam,

Welcome aboard, I am another complete noob here with even less skills than you have...as others have suggested pick one area and focus on it to do the first one.
I have picked up stuff here and there that was useless or missing steps...I have spent years reading about this IM stuff and affiliate marketing...I have finally started to do something about it.

It's coming slowly as there are areas I need to learn as I go but I just started at step 1 and went.

I am following along with a couple of great mentors who are offering a IM bootcamp of sorts...it may be what you are looking for, it's what I need to get going..once I know it then I can go on my own.

        Best of luck

I am new to internet marketing myself and after two months of trying to find sure fire answers to promoting I realised that all the sheds of information I read meant nothing, because the information that was given to me was only a ploy to scroll to the bottom of the screen and buy something.
I've been on this forum for two days and I know this is where I'm going to get the right advice because the people on this site are genuinely helping each other to succeed and progress.

    Sam,
I remember being a newbie and trying to figure out what to do. There were so many ideas being hyped! I tried some of them out. A few I liked and a few I didn't.

I prefer to write and blog, so that is what I focus on. I'd recommend picking just one of the topics you are interested in, buying a domain name, setting up a blog and starting to write some content or add plr content that you have modified. After you get the blog established and feel comfortable promoting it, you can always set up a second blog for another topic.

thank you! yesterday I didn't read and click all over which was my first goal to focus on. I have to stop that. today is my "figure out the blog set up", that is what I will keep focus on. and read here when I can.
No more clicking around websites, it is getting me nowhere.

you are all very helpful, I appreciate the advice and hope someday I can offer advice to someone! best of luck to all of you as well....

quick question, do any of you use software to rewrite PLR articles or do you rewrite yourself or do you write all your own for your blogs?

I do have some articles I started myself from my own experiences saved on my computer, but if I used any PLR, do you suggest changing it myself or do you use some software that I've seen out there or is that a waste of money as well?

Hey Samz693 - welcome aboard. This forum is one of the best "schools" that you can go to at any price.

Know that you are not experiencing anything others have not already experienced. You have already identified the key - FOCUS! Once you know your goal or desired result always approach the next new piece of information with the question - "does this take me closer to my goal or farther from it". If it is farther, drop it immediately.

As far as PLR, it really depends upon what you are trying to do with it. But in the IM world you really want to be as original as posssible and you want your articles to read like they were not made by a machine. At least 30% of a PLR article should be rewritten.

More importantly write what you feel. If you are trying to promote affiliates, learn about their product by testing it or reading other reviews and try an put it into your own words. If you write from your own experience it should come easier and will read with more passion.

My father used to say "their is no free lunch" so there is work involved. If you want someone to "click" on your offer, give them the reason you're passionate about the product and it just might happen!!!

    Wishing you much success.

    Sid
