Mindmap for Productivity

I'm trying to find a post related to a mindmap strategy.
How to use it to increase productivity and specially in internet marketing area. But couldn't find any. The post about mindmap software (WSO) is so old.

The software I use now is freemind.

    Hi Daniel,

I don't know which WSO you're talking about, but the fundamentals of productivity tend not to get outdated. Set goals. Use deadlines. Measure your results. Improve.

Freemind is still an excellent program because it's free.

I also use Mindjet Mindmanager, but it's the Rolls Royce of mind mapping and costs some money.

Here on the Warrior Forum, I use it to extract information and act on WSOs as fast as possible.

I tend not to have more than 5 nodes if I can help it. Everything else should be sub-nodes. The most important nodes should be at the top.

Use the 80/20 rule to prioritize the top 1 or 2 nodes. Meaning, 80% of success usually comes from just 20% of your actions. So start there. Sometimes, I'll even highlight the 20% that brings results by placing a golden halo around them.

Many authors simply give you their entire brain-dump and don't tell you what's most important. That's one application of mind mapping that can help you be more productive in IM. Plus, always remember to act as much (preferably more) than you study.

By using this process of mind mapping WSOs, I normally start acting on them in 30 minutes or less. I hope that points you in the right direction.

As far as I understood your question you're asking about how to use mindmapping to increase your productivity?
If so, the answer is quite simple.
Planning increases productivity. And one of the easiest ways to plan is to use mindmaps.

      Hi Alex,

      Thanks for replying.

I have already use mindmap in everyday use.
So, I am not asking about how to use the mindmap software (i.e. freemind), but the strategy to use it, especially for internet marketers.

There are many internet marketers give their mindmap of strategy, but I haven't seen anybody offer a strategy to create the mindmap itself, especially if you are internet marketers.

I am talking about a niche.
internet marketing - mindmap - how to create/use mindmap for internet marketing

and it's not just to create product, plan a product launch, or any IM activities, but also to use it maximize productivity, etc...

      Thanks
      Daniel

I LOVE mindmaps and use freemind, and have used others. But I think my favorite is just having a stack of paper nearby to grab and draw on with a pen.

I have also used 20-30 types of software to plan and manage multiple projects, but I still just prefer to write on lined notebook paper, paper clip like items together into bunches and put a post-it note on top of each, and put them all in a manila project folder.

Old school, but it works. I'm tired of being glued to a computer or phone. I want the damn thing IN MY HAND.

Im the same, I have freemind and love mindmaps as well. But when you are glued to a computer all day its hard to look at a mindmap. I tend to do it on paper and stick it up, it makes it easier to find in the million and one windows ive got open on my computer. It helps to stay focused as well as its there and not hidden.

      Thanks.

I also use papers when I tried to create a web layout, or brainstorming.
But I found that a mindmap is more 'editable'.

I agree Alan. I like to do everything on paper but then I have a hard time with retrieval. ("Oh where the *$&@ is that folder?" or "which folder did I put that in?")

I certainly can not find a WSO about this topic.
Maybe it's good for us to share our own formula.
Then, maybe later, we can compile some formulas
to create a simple handout about mindmap for internet marketers.

Start with myself. This is my formula:
          1. Mind - have a focus and positive mind, create your plan
          2. Action - put some action to your plan, this is the most theme on the WSO
          3. Persistence - don't stop until you get some results

I will create a mindmap based on this formula.
If you have other formula, please share.

          Thanks
          Daniel

            Hi Augustianos,
I am looking for mindmap software, and besides the Mindjet Mind Manager and IMindMaps, I am looking at Freemind and Xmind - which I am about to check out.

As for your question: from my search, I have found something that may be what you are looking to find.

It is primarily for offline, but I doubt that is any problem for it to be utilised for online, as I am sure you know. It can be modified with Mind Manager, and imported into Freemind, although I do not know if it can be modified there; which would seem to me to be of little use, if that is the case.

You can find it as a wso from Vagabond07

I have not bought this, for as I said, I am just looking for the generic software for now. It is something I will keep in mind; and to let you know in case you had not heard of it, and because it may suit what you want.

mindmaps, its a very good strategy to get your idea in perspective. In out list, its split in half. Some like mindmaps but other half get confuse easily on those. They prefer the old style Numbering, bullet styles. So thats why we do both so we can share our ideas easily. Anyways, Freemind is a good software.
