I know of a far greater waste of time that no one ever seems to lynch: sleep. I'm sure all of us could wring out another thirty minutes a day, just by waking up earlier.

All a motivational quote is is an anchor. When you read it, it shifts your state. If you're feeling lazy and unfocused, reading a quote that is strongly anchored to feeling productive and focused can shift you into that state. It's just like viewing your goals. You might have decided those goals at a higher state of mind and the simple act of viewing them puts you back there.
