Just start moving...keep moving, and the pieces will eventually fall into place.

This seems obvious at first glance but do we consciously understand it below the surface level? If we truly understood this concept then we would never wait for the right moment to present itself before we took action. When opportunities arise, you will never feel 100% ready. If you knew everything all at once then you would be a goddamn genius. Remember, unless you are making mistakes you are not learning as you go and you are not growing as a result. Stop waiting for the right moment to arise, jump right in. Right now there’s a lot you don’t know, how could you, we learn as we go. :p

Thanks for sharing! Learn as you go is a great concept. If you are not making mistakes you may have stopped trying to learn. If you stop learning it can lead to stagnation - and stagnation can equal to status quo. When you work for yourself you can take the challenge and dare. When you work for someone else, the fear of failure always hangs over your head, so you never learn or grow, just stay on the same path regardless of the outcome.

This is one of the biggest lessons I had to learn about IM. Stop waiting for things to be perfect, just get it out there and perfect it later....or as you go.

@J.Tayler - That's what's made my efforts way more successful. I'm a perfectionist and that personality trait has held be back in my IM efforts considerably. I'm starting to just push things live when I think they're halfway ready and then tweak it as it goes.

  • It's like the Nike slogan "Just do it". You learn much more from getting stuck into whatever it is that you want to do, rather than sitting there and contemplating it, you see what I'm saying?
