Create Your Own Luck Don't Leave It To Chance

Can you really create your own luck? Yes you can. Luck is all about preparedness meets opportunity. I got this from Tony Robbins. Everybody has opportunities pass their way all the time but if you're not ready for them you won't be able to take them up.

If you skimmed passed a job opportunity for a surgeon but you're not trained to be a surgeon you'll not be able to take it up.

Unfortunately there's one piece of the puzzle missing. You can be prepared for an opportunity, one can pass right by your nose and you can still miss it.

You hear about this all of the time about people who work hard all of their lives and never get anywhere. This is where your RAS comes in. That's your reticular activating system.

A study on luck proved this. People were surveyed into how lucky they felt they were and one of the questions was how lucky they felt they were when it came to finding money, cash, just lying around the place.

Then they were asked to come to a resturant for an interview. Just before they arrived some cash was dropped in front of them.

Without exception the ones who thought they were lucky in finding money found it and the ones who were unlucky didn't see it.

As well as being prepared for opportunities that come your way you also have to believe that the opportunities are out there and that when they present them self you will see them.

If not you'll be one of those people who will work hard all of their life and achieve nothing.

One of the best personal development books I've ever read is 'The Luck Factor' by Richard Wiseman. It details the study above and a lot more. It also gives you some actionable strategies on how you can increase the amount of luck in your life.

I highly recommend you get this book

Yes we all can create our own luck. Both good or bad, by virtue of our actions, thoughts and attitudes.

I've always liked the quote "I would rather be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared."

Don't remember where I heard it first. It was sometime way back in the 80's when I was in the Army. Being prepared was key.

Thanks for the very nice quotes "Luck is all about preparedness meets opportunity". Having a job is such an opportunity to take since many were jobless nowadays,So i guess its my luck, that meets together with my opportunity
