Visualising the End result - when more than 1 image then how?

Hi All

All success literature advises to visualise the end result for success and attainment of that goal.

So for those of you that do this, how or what do i do when i can think of more than 1 end result?

for example: if it was weightloss

image 1) standing on scales

Image 2) being told i look great

Image 3) going shopping for my clothes and choosing the smaller sizes

Image 4) wearing sexy clothes

and so on

So as you can see there are many end results there for the same goal so what do i do then?

thank you

He's just trying to build up his post count - ignore him.

What I would do in your case - standing on the scales wouldn't be motivating to me and the other 3 you could combine into 1. So you could visualise yourself trying on a pair of jeans in the size you want to be in a store changing room - you can see the size label on the jeans - then you come out of the changing room and someone who is important to you (girlfriend/wife whoever) is waiting outside and tells you how great you look.

          Nice advice NicSennen.

Another thing you can do is create a “Vision Board” with all of your separate visualisations on. (You can cut out magazines and gather images online to make something of a collage that can keep you motivated.)

I suppose it's just something to keep you "focused." Ultimately it's action which will make your goals a reality.

I understand, ive read that the visualization done in a relaxed state is how we impress the image to our subconscious and then when it is impressed it is what drives us to take action, would you agree?

From my experience when I'm passionate about something I visualize/think about it naturally. I would say that your passion for your goal(s) is what will drive your forward: (Not visualizing.)

                  Just my take. : )

I once read something fascinating by UK “Mentalist” Derrin Brown which went something like. “Motivation is what people who read self-improvement books wait for. The rest of us just get on with it.” Not sure if that's helpful. Just something I found interesting.

Another one I like from legendary marketer Gary Halbert:

“Movement creates more momentum than meditation.” I'm not saying you shouldn’t visualize or use affirmations or whatever. (Because they're amazing.) However, like I said, it’s action which creates results.

Those are great quotes and each of them have a valid point. However, going off of what Gary Halbert said, he forgot to mention that before you have movement, you have to have thought. Therein lies the problem.

It's the quality of the thought that determines the outcome of the movement. If you're standing on a edge of a cliff, you had better put some serious thought into which direction you go, because on of them is clearly the wrong way. Movement is not necessarily a good thing.

Joking aside, this is why mediation, goals, and other personal development tools are important. You have to think correctly in order to take the proper action to get to a per-determined end result.

Of course, there are many who take no action...which is not a good thing either (and I think that was the point Gary was making). :-)

                      Hi Rbarnhart1.

Thought, planning, etc. has it's place. And, like you said it's an important aspect of accomplishing your goal(s). However, after a certain point, it's time to take action.

Sometimes people even use “planning” as a reason not to take action. (I've been there before.)

Many people think they have to be “motivated” (or whatever) before taking action however it's taking action that can be a good motivator. : )

I was and still am one of these very people but in my search to fulfil my inner desires of bettering myself i have finally learnt and i hope correctly that this has all been conscious but its my subconscious pulling the strings so now im geared to changing it just trying to get my head around visualisation now lol

my previous answer above was mentioning this, that ive read so far having the image of the goal you want impressed onto the subconscious will give you the motivation or energy to take action and then it just happens, and ive read in creative visualisation by shakti gawain that even without any action the law of attraction itself will still bring the goal to you what do you think?

brilliant especially the darren brown quote, i read his on cruise ships doing shows, that would be a treat to watch

my understanding so far is that what we visualise and impress onto our subconscious mind will affect our feelings and automatically will give us the motivation etc.

so the lack of motivation or procrastination or fear is basically another image that we have impressed onto our subconscious minds be it from childhood or whatever, make sense to you or would you say otherwise?

I see what your saying stopper, however that end result itself wudnt feel goal specific for me as such so in this goal or any goal where there are many different end result which do you choose or do you somehow use them all or a few? etc

Having a goal and focusing on it is what matters not the sideshows. Anything other than the goal is either a barrier/distraction object. If your goal is to loose weight then how much and by when? stick to this and you wont miss it

I totally understand, the question i have for you all is, what do you do during the day inbetween your visualisation sessions, as in are you to keep visualising the image/mental movie consciously all day long and not just during your relaxed drowsy sessions?

Visualization does not have to be one image you hold in your mind.... Try taking to 10 minutes to visualize.. visualize everything that emotionally charges your being! If you want to wear sexier clothes than visualize that.. visualize yourself on the scale.. visualize yourself being told you look great.. visualize it all! visualize everything you want to experience...

really? i mean if i want to visualise all of those end results for my weightloss, then do i do it in the visualisation session and flash the first mental movie, then the next and the next and the next in succession?

or would the mind see each of this as basically not 1 complete goal but many many goals? because ive read you should focus on 1 goal at a time

The importance of visualization is clear, but so is the role of emotion. Before beginning any visualization exercise, you should bring yourself in alignment, you should be experiencing feelings of happiness, love, abundance, joy and health.
