What Inspires/Motivates You??

I've read some great threads here, with many great, motivational quotes. I was wondering if Warriors would want to share the people or things that motivate them too!

What motivates me is my children. Specifically, providing a better life for them than I had growing up.

Feel free to share!! :-)

What motivates me is money, money, money and I have to work hard so that I can eat. If I will have a lot of money I can help my friends and families and have some adventure with them.

Nice, Greg! As they say, "Find something that you love to do and then figure out how to get paid doing it." I think you've got it figured out for sure! :-)

Actually, the pure enjoyment of what I do motivates me. I never had a job I enjoyed like this before. I don't even think of it as a 'job.'

To do what I want to do and never do what I don't want to do.

This is my supreme goal and everything I do is in line of achieving it.

I admire your goal and hope it works for you.

For me, however, this would not work. I love the "To do what I want to do" part but the "never do what I don't want to do" part is unachievable. There will always be things I have to do that I don't want to do. I don't want to pay tax, but I have to. I don't want to cook dinner, but I have to. I don't want to watch my dog die of cancer, but I have to. I don't want to vacuum my dogs hair off the floor today because friends are visiting tonight, but I have to. I don't want to lie in bed sick with food poisoning and miss a crucial speaking engagement, but it happens. And so on.

I find it extremely important to embrace the idea that sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do, and that when that's true it's perfectly ok as a necessary element of experiencing life. This is just as true when it comes to performing actions that help you reach your financial goals. Sometimes you don't want to do them, but if you don't, you'll never earn the money you should. Usually its these moments that give us the greatest inspirations and the greatest growth.

That's why my preferred aim is:

"To do what I want to do, whenever I want to do it."

With this in your mindset you have a definite aim, but if at some point you can't do exactly what you want when you want, that's ok. Since this aim is not definitive in any way - it is purely an aim to achieve day in and day out - it can't actually be broken by something out of your control that prevents you from adhering to it in any given moment.

With a motto that says "never do", you are sure to break it and, if you break it enough, the motto goes out the window as a strong guiding principle.

I'm saying this as my personal view only. In the end, of course, it is what works for you that matters most.

I love this thread, its like a common denominator of what brings us together in this IM dream. Motivation for me comes from the desire to be able to do what I want pretty much at will. The things I want are not so terrible. To see my daughters several times a year. They live OS from me. To join my husband when his work takes him OS. To have money to help out when its needed. and here's a biggie too - to not be a slave wage, because THAT stops all the rest in its tracks. Money is freedom in a lot of ways. OH and job satisfaction. Yes, that motivates me too!

    I am motivated by achievement

Nothing helps more than succeeding at something, related to internet marketing or not. If I do feel down and things aren't going my way, I'll watch some motivational YouTube videos and read some quotes.

  • My most weighty motivation comes from the relationship I have with my immediate family.

While carrying on in the market place may occupy a sizable portion of my time and interests, my true emotional focus remains with my immediate loved ones. We live well together and help each other achieve personal goals. It is a very nice built in motivational, action taking, profit making, family / business plan.

This is a very nice thread. Thank you.

I think children can be a big motivator. Just got told I'm having a baby, so I'm more motivated now than ever. I want to be there to raise my kids and working at home on my own terms is the way to do that.

My children have always been a huge motivator for me. Now that they are getting older, I am motivated to build a business large enough to include them and give them a way to provide for their future families, too.

A test of strength. Standing up meeting your opponent face to face, then battling to see who comes out on top.

The funny thing is, I am more motivated when I lose those battles.
