What IS Mindset?

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

When I read some of these threads (that aren't Jason Choi's

,) I'm often left wondering if the concept of what YOUR mindset IS feels clear, to you.

Now...

In the I.M. world, results are the measuring stick for a lot of entrepreneurs.

In other words...

The more money you make, the more powerful your mindset is, right?

Well...

Not necessarily.

Just to clarify...

Your mindset is the glasses you perceive the world through.

The clarity and prescription of your lenses are based upon your beliefs and judgments.

For instance...

I believe that receiving $5,000 from a copywriting client is normal.

I don't think twice.

So I receive $5,000 payments multiple times a month.

However...

Some people, who are just as talented, if not more gifted than me struggle to make just $500.

Where's the discrepancy?

Obviously, they have limiting beliefs about money.

Therefore...

The tedious action steps they take reveal a mere $500... or less... as the agreed upon exchange of energy (i.e. payment) for their copywriting services.

Yet I take way less action and effortlessly reveal clients who will consistently pay me $5000 for their copywriting projects.

What's the difference?

Mindset, right?

The glasses I have on allow me to see more opportunities...

...while the glasses some of my peers wear are obscured by their limiting beliefs and judgements.

Remember...

The internal world (your feelings, thoughts, sensations) create YOUR EXPERIENCE of the the external environment.

That means...

Your mindset is what creates your results.

Not your action steps.

In fact...

Whatever physical action steps you DO take will come from so much inspiration that they will FEEL absolutely effortless.

But you aren't looking out there for proof.

You're looking inside of yourself to see what is about to reveal itself in your experience of reality.

To Your Inevitable Success!

P.S. What's your definition of mindset?

well with the bland way it is used it really means nothing ..

it's like how people say avoid fear.. or be a success .. without real detail .. it does the reader very little .. like failure ..

You mindset is basically how you respond to what happens to you and your expectations ..

there are two basic mindset .. growth oriented mindsets .. or static/decline mindsets ..

growth oriented mindsets tend to involve people responding to what happens to them by working to become better and constantly adjusting course to get where they want to get.. or move forward even if they are not definite about where they are going they know that if they are always getting better they will alway be in a good place for them..

static/decline mindsets .. basically are people who think they where born withall of their potential pre decided .. they desire to always be perfect as any sign of imperfection is a shot to them ..for they fail the will always be only that good. early on many of these people where the top of their class or the heads of sports teams.. the ones everyone want to be like.. but when they get to a point where they have to learn and grow.. and feel like failures because they arn't already the best ... they shelter themselves off hide as much as possible.. and stay the same which in a world that is constantly changing.. is as bad as declining .

  So...

You're saying that life happens to you?

You don't CREATE your reality, through mindset... Through your attention upon reality?

  Thanks

  yes and no ..

you create your perception of your current reality now .. and your reality an hour from now or a day from now .. will be based off part of your response to your current reality.. as you perceive it .. and your responses to your perceive reality prior ..

it has nothing to do with what happens .. but your perception of what happens ..and your current view of your reality ..which is only based on a small amount of information about what is really happening .

ok now that is an explination that makes new agers head explode ..

let me reframe by example ..
I have bi polar disorder .. and i have sufferd from long bouts of deep morbid levels of depression through my life ..

I can be feeling fine then acctually feel the chemical balance in my head change and the rapid change in mood .. Now the old response i use to have .. was to pull out the long list of reasons i had to be depressed .. and justify the feelings and let the depression set in and stay a while ..

Now i feel that shift and the depression tries to set in and .. i focus on better feeling thoughs .. or .. if i can i lay down and take a nap.. i mean i still have a long list of reasons i can pull out.. that reality hasn't changed .. but my response to the seed of depression is to not let it grow ..

i am also high functioning autistic ,,now let me tell you how much fun it has been to have both of these conditions at play in my life ..And there is no uncreating them ... they are and will be part of my reality ..

Much of my 34 years here on this rock i have been made to feel i am broken and should respond by trying to fix myself and work like a normal person ..all efforts though where rewarded with the feedback focusing more and more on how different i was and i should do more fixing ..

7 months ago i hit what i will call point $%$ it ..when i realized that no amount of tinkering here or there will be enough ..or make me normal enough for those around me ..so i actually dumped much if not all of the built up tension in my body from year of burrying or trying to be numb to it..and desided to work on designing a life that allowed me to be the best me ..

so now when i get the not good enough feedback.. instead of burrying it i respond quite differently ..and i am getting that feedback less often.. when you deside not to be crapped on .. fewer people crap on you ..

now if i never shifted my mindset on this..i could have moved to the otherside of the world..but everyone who surrounded me would have probably given the same negative feedback ..

if you respond the same way to what happens in your life .. you will just recreate the same events over and over ..

  Thanks

I agree with you, but also believe that people have very different ways of measuring their own success. Some people that are out there will believe that their £500 from a client is all they need, and that they needn't aim higher. Of course, this limits many people, but in some ways it actually helps to keep them motivated and happy. Shrouds don't have pockets, so if you're happy with what you make, why go further?
