One thing I believe to be successful is that we have to get out of our comfort zones. We sometimes let fear get in the way and this is not healthy. With me I just attended a 4 day training where we all had to give 3 presentations of future classes we will be teaching in our day jobs. I am not a public speaker. However, I grew from this and now i feel more confident to teach in the future the info we were provided. The point to this post this is to get out of your comfort zone. We have great abilities if we put forth the effort.
Have a blessed day.

Nice post! True that! When we do not step out of our comfort zones, we let fear get the best of us. And there is no growth when we live in fear, while living in limitation and settling for people's expectations. When we face our fears and break through the comfort zone, we take control and end up doing what we always wanted to.

For sure. I would like to add that if you aren't the type of person that generally isn't use to stepping outside your comfort zone and have your reasons why you want to change this, be consistent with it or it sometimes is just too easy to find yourself right back where you started. When I was in college, I feared taking Public Speaking and saved that class for very last but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My attempt at stepping outside MY comfort zone at that time was to be the first one to get up there and give my speech first, which I did. I was like a young school kid in the back of the classroom raising his hand as high as I could saying "me, me, me" . But I can tell now, I have had minimal stage fright since then.

Its true, people are just to afraid to take a risk or leave their jobs to pursue what they really want in life, that's where fear hold them back to reach their goals.

    Fear is a natural thing.

What is not natural is letting it control your actions.

The best way I know of for how to deal with fear and comfort zones is to embrace the feelings you have.

The biggest mistake I used to make was to ignore my feelings of fear, they would eat away at me.

Instead, embrace the fear, feel it, be aware of why you feel how you do. Once you are aware of where the fear is coming from, what is causing it, think of what result conquering that fear will bring.

Just my two cents. It's worked for me in the past in terms of breaking barriers.

The moment when you ask yourself "what is the worst that can happen"
Then you do the thing anyways
and what ever your answer was to the "what is the worst that can happen"
    Didn't happen.

You realize that being in your comfort zone is no fun :-)

Fear, of course, is one of the big reasons we stay in our comfort zones. However, apathy and inertia are also two big reasons.

Most of the things we fear will happen don't but it stops many of us in our tracks. A good exercise would be to look back at something you avoided doing for a while because of fear but then later did it. Ask yourself if any of your fears were real. You'll probably find that most of them are not.

People that don't care won't change. Somehow we have got to become more aware, more open, and more willing to care. We have got to get interested in all aspects of our lives and businesses. We've got to see the possibilities and realize there is a better tomorrow available and that we have many more options than we probably are aware of.

Overcoming inertia is a hard one for many of us. Laziness is something that has to be overcome. Procrastination has to be eliminated. We need to change our mindset from tomorrow to now, from this afternoon to this morning, and from "just a minute" to now. It is absolutely true that if we never get started we will never change, get outof our comfort zone, or succeed.

The comfort zone is exactly what keeps people working a job for some company only paying them enough to get by for years. They let fear stop them from doing something new that could produce a solid six or seven figure income.

Fear is of the unknown. Once you can get through that, nothing will hold you back. I face my fears (my debts). Write them down on a big piece of paper and stick it in front of you. Face it. Everyday of your life you will conquer that fear until it no longer creates a problem for you.

until you step out of fear...there will never be success. Be an overcomer.

    (simple illustration):
regular person -> [(goes into a army training)} -> Fearless, Armed and dangerous (extraordinary)

regular person ->[sits and don't take risk/ fear to stand up] -> regular person
