With the popularity of LOA from the secret, has it jumped the4 shark? If so what is next?

The Law of Attraction has been taught for centuries beginning with the Bible. After that famous book I would say Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is the most popular. Napoleon said we can achieve anything we can concieve (don't know that that is a direct quote. The Bible says if you have faith you can move mountains.

The Secret simply took principles that have been know forever and packaged it very well for commercial appeal.

    Great Question

LOA is one of the most popular topics on my site - SelfGrowth.com. I would say that given it's controversial nature, it will stay a hot topic for quite some time.

to me, a big part of LOA is practical. Example- I have a friend who is a designer. He's big into LOA, the secret, Kiyosaki etc. and likes to talk about how rich he will be. BUT, after being really slow in getting work done for a client I referred to him, the client doesn't want to use him. I'm embarrassed to refer him again.

He's turning away money and work that's right in front of him, instead of jumping on it, turning it into more.

    Hi,

LOA is great, but you have to KNOW how to use it... it doesn't work on 'automatic pilot'! I've experimented with these techniques in my own life for nearly 20 years.

Every time I took action and applied it to the person/think/idea I was trying to attract - it worked, but if I just drew something up and forgot about it, most of the time, it did not work. Daily work may be part of it.

LOA is here to stay - it's been here for centuries and there are plenty of people using it successfully.

    Interesting thread...

The LOA began with mankind (tho' I guess in the early days mankind wasn't aware of how he was using it!)
Napolean Hill is famous for saying "What the mind of man can see and believe, he can achieve".
The secret is to see it in your mind first and then believe that you can achieve that goal (as long as it is achieveable and realistic!)
I have been using LOA for 30+ years and as long as I as long as I have kept faith in the fact that I will achieve what I see, I have achieved.
I am a great believer of using pictures to help me achieve my goals. I stick them on the refrigerator, on the wall in my office, on the desktop of my computer. Where I am likely to look and see what I want to achieve, there are pictures.
As the bible says "Keep Faith"

Napolean Hill, Think and Grow Rich has really enhanced my life.

I do agree that it does not work on "auto pilot" and that you have to dedicate some time each day to focus on your desires... The secret is to stay focused in that same direction long enough to bring that desire to fruition.

I find that the amount of concentration, or work, you have to put into what you are attracting is in direct connection with how big the wish or desire is. If it is something that you have inherently learned to reject for the majority of your life, it will take some heavy work to get that subconcious habit out of there. But, if it is a small task or wish that doesn't take the same effort it would take to move a mountain, sometimes a little attention goes a long way. I have been using the LOA in my life for awhile now, and it seems the small achievements have given me the faith to keep the larger wishes within the realm of possiblities.
