if you where to never need money again ..

what life would you have ..

or if the life you enjoyed living provided enough money and always would provide enough money to live that life ..what would it be ..

how about if you had a lifestyle that meant you had to pay 30 or 40 thousand dollars a month out in bills ..

a much better life can mean much higher bills and maybe you desire for fewer bills is what is preventing you from a better life .

now i personal want a simple day to day life.. living in a tropical environment .. but i want to travel via private chartered jet or what ever that keeps me off of tubes with hundreds of other people..and live in nice cozy places for months at a time ..

that is just part of it ..

money give you access to options

I agree with you Odahh ...

So many people are worried about paying less taxes and paying less bills etc, but in reality if you are paying more in taxes then you are actually making more.

My favorite is the retirment plans. Put away now so that you can take out when you retire as you will be making a lot less ... How is this a good philosophy. We should all be working on creating multiple streams of income that pay us more when we retire no less : )

Both great points. Love the fact you brought up retirement, Shawn. The typical mindset seems to be all wrong to me too.

Another thing is: If I make more money, I can give more away. I tend to be more service minded and have a passion for helping others. If I don't have more money, there are orphans that won't be served. They won't get much needed food, clothing, or funds to help with the needs of every day life. (See 100xmissions.org as an example)

Without those who have the ability to earn more money, there would be those who benefit from that generosity without.

Not trying to sound like I'm tooting my own horn. I just think it's amazing when I hear things like: "...at some point I think you've made enough money." it's really an ignorant and totally misguided statement.

Oh... and I believe DEEEEPLY that I should be able to give the money I earn to whomever I choose. I am NOT for being told how to 'distribute' what I earn.

Whew! Almost got up on my soapbox there. LOL!

    Anyway, great thoughts guys!

i am currently broke.. not poor ..but i have been out of work for over three years and i have no desire to ever retire once i find my way to earn money that give me meaning ..or is expression of my meaning ..

in many ways i have stripped away much of what society and the marketing we deal with has told us we should want.. even the personal development guru's pile on shoulds ..

3-4 years ago i was broken and depleted in every aspect a human being can be ... i was a zombie walking around waiting for the car to hit me or whatever ..

in the last year though there have been harsh period ..my mind has started to clear and focus..about what matters to me..

paul right now i am clearfing how i can make good money doing good work.. it is one of those things that has been twisted ..that you can't do both ..

we are now in a different world and a different time ..the old way of doing thing in almost every sector of life does not work anymore ..i have even given up on the concept of forgiveness .. as everything in my life has happened to bring me to the point i am now that staying the same is 10 times harder than making the changes i need to make to live a better life for myself ..

when i make those change from that point on ..only people who themselves are looking for ways to improve their lives while enter my awareness ..

people equate abundance with money ..but money is only one of many forms of abundance ..with each passing day there is more a person can do without factoring in money

retirment was a concept for last century.. when people in the western ..developed world grew to old to be productive in an industrial system ..

now with the system we have and are developing.. there is never a point where you will be to old to be productive ..and in the next ten to 20 years ..we will have gen therapies so those who are productive and can afford it will half and reverse the ageing process.. while the less productive or non productive may pass away from the many way our modern life allows people to live unhealthy lives ..

right now the system is built to suck as much money out of people pocket while they are working..and then have them get sick after they stop working and suck every possible dime it can from them before they pass on ..

Very Interesting perspectives on this, Odahh!!

I totally see where you're coming from, man...
especially coming from a "broke" and zombie-like way of life....lol!

I somewhat agree on your concept of "retirement" as well, Odahh, because like You,....
I too, do NOT intend on "retiring" in the traditional sense of the word,....(as in,...pretty much just chillin',... possibly doing 'nothing' but play golf, sit my lazy azz down, sippin tea or some other more appropriate adult beverage...

After being, functioning, thinking, and living at a high level for so many years,....I think that one tends to get used to that relatively high level of Productivity.

It's what makes You feel worthy of living!...Of knowing that you are being and contributing 'value' to not only yourself, but to others, in this wonderful life.

As for the 'money' issue,..... Tru dat,...I agree that "Abundance" does not necessarily and always equate to MO' MONEY $$$$

In fact, I've got several quite "abundant-living" friends,..among of which almost half are virtually broke,....but are as abundantly Happy and Abundant as HECK!!
(Shoot!,...makes me jealous sometimes, man!!!) LOL!

In the end,....I personally think that we all do have a purpose.

And that purpose is inherently tied to providing 'value'.

That value, in turn, provides worth, and if one is truly living in the "abundant" mindset,....
....then that worth,....returns in ten-fold in gratitude and "reward",...be it money, love, time, ...you name it, Brother!......You got it!

Thanks for making me stop to think twice about this, Odahh!

Good Post, Bro!!! I DIG It!

Now go make more money$$$$ !!! .............LOL!!! (kidding!!.....or not!?!?)

to he who has more shall be given..to he who has not more will be taken away ..

this is not to start talking about the bible ..though

today more than ever there are many option available with very little money ..if we are not exploring and working with those options .. then we will have fewer options or seem to have fewer options.

money increases our available options ..but if we are not taking the options we have now ..why will the universe supply more money ..and the more options that come with it .

yesterday i found a deal on shrim that is useually 9$ a lb and it was less than 2 bucks a lb ..so..i bought 3 lbs they had on speical..

mahe a dinner last night with a pound of it and fed 4 people a shrimp dinner .. with leftovers.. for a total of about 7 $ for the ingredients

I am not going to lie. I do like money. But it can not buy you happiness or love or the things that are important in life. And the more money you have the more you will want.

      I totally agree, Heart Cardio!

The true challenge is in finding that delicate "balance"......that point of contentment,...of knowing that you are satisfied with what you have, who you are, and where you're at,..right NOW.....simultaneous with the monetary level $$ it takes to maintain that.

...all the while,..curbing,...or at least "controlling" your natural desire,...for 'more'.

      Ahhh,...Life,......I FREAKIN' LOVE this game!!!

I have literally just created a personal blog centered around this thing(s),....i.e. 'challenges',...that adds spice to our daily living.,.....that makes Life harder than it should be.

...It's a personal project (that I started as part of my New Years Resolution)...

** Aptly named and domained:,... HowToKickChallengesInTheAss dot com (ha!)

I'm soo freakin' pumped about it,....and even more pumped that I intend, and will help soooooo many others in the same boat as I/us!

(thanks again, for this great thread, Odahh!)

well more relationships end because of money problems .. than infidelity ,,, and sometimes money problems cause infidelity ...

and lack of money is the root of all evil.. technically it is thought to be love..

but someone with enough money isn't going to stab your grandmother to death for her jewlery and what is in her pocketbook ..

and someone with enough money .. isn't going to lay 1000 people off to get a 5 percent temporary boost in their stock prices

...all the while,..curbing,...or at least "controlling" your natural desire,...for 'more'.

there is no curbing this desire in a growing and expanding universe .. the key .. is to decide what is the more that you want.. and that will give you the best experience today .

If you limit the more you can have.. to what you can get with money . or what you need more money for . then you limit your paths of growth,

each and every day they are more way to grow and get a different kind of more..with no money involved ..

most very wealthy people .. learned to use and find resourses they had .. well before they became wealthy ..

there was a story last year .. of a woman who had one a million dollar lottery or something thing ..and didn't stop getting food stamps ...the problem was after the government took more than half of it .. and after she bough a couple houses .. she still needed the 200 dollars a month ..in foodstamps

there are a lot of people who no matter how much more money they make .. are always going to be very close to ruin .. or poor who look rich .. while there are many people who may be worth a lot of money and you might not be able to tell ..

many people with real wealth who look rather average.. will tend to take care of their health ..and be in healthy relationships ..

what wealthy people do over the long term that most people don't .. is they sleep right they eat right .. and they do work that gives them meaning ..they might not love everything involved.. and it may not be all passion .. but at the end of they day when they go home ..they feel they have done something meaningful.. to them .

Lack of money can lead you to many problems. And if you do not get that under control then your relationship could really suffer. I can see how relationships do end because of this. People in a relationship need to be on the same wavelength with the money.

well not to really inject to much love/money stuff into this thread ..

but after about 20 or so.. as a guy ..if you are not 6 foot plus with a muscular build .. in western societies ..your hopes for the love of real pretty women rest on your ability to earn enough money or at least more than them ..

and it depends on your confidence level ..usually it is not the lice guy who finish last.. but the guys who where broke and so so in the looks department..chaseing girls who want cute guys who can buy them nice things or boob jobs ..

money opens up more options..but if you don't know how to handle the options you have rarely will you get more money

women and money are similar.. they don't really stick around if you are clueless and disrespectful in your treatment of them..

The lifestyle i would choose live in a small community. Cost of living is lower that way the money would go farther. For investments, and travel.

I love how people on here just "get it"
If I make $100k per month, yes, I will make a lot of money. And at the same time I have the opportunity to give out much more money to other people.
The limited mind thinks "When I give this money away I will have less"
The connected mind thinks "When I give this money away someone else will have more"
This whole "money" subject has been used to control us so no accident many of us have such limiting beliefs around it. But when we can let go of all that and realize how much we're able to serve with more money we can sooooooaaaaarrr

I love luxury so when I have tons of money I buy the highest quality products, the best service and the most breathtaking vacations, excursions, houses and cars. I just don't look that good with a mediocre look on my face. So getting used to having a lot of money flow in and out of my life is something I'm very passionate about =)
