How to wake up happy and positive!

I think how we wake up and set the tone for our day is one of the most important aspect of increasing productivity.

So how do you start your day to make sure you have the best start possible?

This is my way.

What's yours?

I believe that if you wake up with a negative attitude, your entire day won't be as productive and you'll see everything in a negative perspective. I start my day with a good run and breakfast to set my mood. As much as possible, I wake up with a good/ positive attitude.

First of all, great video charleswoodway!

Also, I feel your box method of feeling happy about yourself should work good. I will definitely want to try it.

This is what I need. Using a box to store positive memories that are written down is a good idea. I frequently wake up somewhat late, tired and groggy. I try to wake up early, though.

Having a run is a great idea. I think it gets your endorphins kicking around your head. I do a bit of yoga, sit up and press ups.

Ah thanks Apeee I really appreciate it. Let me know how you get on that would be very interesting for me.

Yeah having an alarm go off early is the best. Especially one of the old ringing bell ones. The worst is the morning stuck in that stage: shall I wake up or not? I always feel groggy if I don't get up immediately. Steve Palina has good technique for getting up How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off

Also with the 'positive box' you can visit whenever you need a positive boost not just in the morning.

I hate alarm clocks and I have not used one in almost 10 years! My body clock is trained to get me up at 5.00am. If you have pre-planned your day with exciting activities, it becomes easier to beat the 'shall I wake up or not stage'

I have to agree with everyone else. This is a really great idea. I'm going to have to try it.

I always wake up and put a smile on my face and then give myself three reasons why I am greatful to be here. Always works for me simple and effective.

I happily admit to having gone through this program. Really life changing stuff. Still to do this day I have all my hygiene and food planned out thanks to Eban. I also like what he says about cleaning the grill. To make sure when you stop an activity you do all that is necessary so you can start the task again easily next time. Stefan, did you use Eban's program at all? What benefits did you get from it?

Hey LLS I liked the delivery of your comment Will you try it or do you have a different technique for waking up in a positive frame of mind?

Gratitude is the magic ingredient to the life. I think is at the essence of my technique. How did you start with practice? Do you have something for bed time as well?

I read about this in a book awhile ago. I can't remember which one of the top of my head.

        In Regards to falling asleep:
I do in fact. I try to but, not always goto sleep the same way! I put smile on my face and think about all those who I have helped through out the day. If I didn't help someone or didn't get much accomplished I think about my dog, my girlfriend and my family they always put me in a great mood. Positive thoughts that's what counts.

I am health nut too. So, I notice when I use a foam roller about 30 mins to 1 hour before bed I feel much more relaxed and fall asleep faster. What a great way to sleep and feel refreshed when I wake up.

Having enough sleep can bring you happy morning for sure. It works for me. However, music helps a lot. Before I do everything, I turn on some nice song to make my day better.

I make sure I follow my sleeping routine and get enough sleep so I'm not grumpy and tired. I like to surround myself with quotes and other goals on my desk so when I get up I usually look at them to give me some inspiration and get me in a productive mood.

Be alcohol and caffeine free when you sleep and sleep early. When you open your eyes the following day, say a short prayer of thanks for the opportunity of seeing another day - something denied to a lot of people.

Agreed about sleep. I am trying to go to sleep earlier and get up at the same time everyday!

Yeah I totally do that to AlexGeorge. My room is surrounded my positive quotes. Especially from Steve Jobs!

That's quite philosophical but yeah I keep clear of those substance as general rule. A banana is an awesome snack before bed it is full of tryptophan (or something) that help me get to sleep.

Back when I worked for a small company started up by some young tyke I was very depressed because the office culture was very bad and degenerative, where 1 guy always had the gall to crack a joke about my weight.
One day, after nearly a year of this, I snapped back at him about his laugh. The moment I did that, was the moment I realized that we all take control of our lives and destiny, and by doing what I did to that guy (I was pretty big Upwards as well as side to side) I realized that happiness is not some airy fairy thing we feel, but something we actively summon up. I believe take control and responsibility of your life is part of waking up happy and content.

I love getting up before the sun rises- its when I do the best thinking and I get the best done.

Sometimes I start out with a workout .. you can't replace how that makes you feel

My mom used to tell me this funny saying "swallow the frog first" and I still live by that mentality to this day. Aside from waking up with a positive mentality, you should try tackling the most difficult task that you do NOT want to do FIRST, so that the rest of you day seems like a walk in the park.

It's how I live my life and I've noticed a vast improvement in the quality of it just by the simple fact that I'm not dreading doing a certain task for a big portion of the day until it's done.

Thank you for the empowering story. Every morning and evening I tell myself that I take 100% responsibility for my life.

It's the truth and there is nothing like getting your first bit of work done before most people have even got out of bed.

Actually I love looking at the sunrise. I think there is something called sungazing but I have never found anything concrete about it.

I'll try it. I think this method has the possibility to give a confidence boost for all day.

If I am feeling low, I buck up by listening to music and having a cup of coffee, no matter whether here in the house or out down the lane at the c-store. Normally I am up by 5AM anyhow, so that helps get me a good start to the day.

I think what matters is how you finish the previous day!
E.g. going to bed sober makes you a lot more positive next morning

I wake up each day and dial into a very motivational and inspiring call hosted by very successful people in my team.

Since doing this, I have been able to stay motivated and I look forward to each day.

There is nothing more powerful than having people tell you daily that your dreams and your success are important and then help you to become successful.

If you are not taking advantage of one of these daily calls send me an e-mail and I will get you in on one.
