Is WF half empty or half full?

I've been visiting this forum on and off for a few years now. At times I view it as nothing but a wealth of valuable knowledge and other times I'm saddened by the sheer amount of BS and misinformation that also lies within. It struck me today that this forum really does just mirror life itself. You've got smart people, foolish people, geniuses, cynics, success stories, made up stories, people with integrity and those without... and I could go on and on. Nothing in this world will ever be perfect and we're constantly weaving through a barrage of information and misinformation and a hundred thousand opinions on how to do something. So where does that leave us? Does that mean the world itself is flawed? Absolutely!

I realized today that your perception of this forum probably defines your character and determines how well you will do in life. Do you see this place as the glass half empty or the glass half full? Your approach to life and business will be the same. You'll have a set of circumstances before you and it will never be perfect, and how you think about it largely predicts your outcome. If you're naturally cynical, you might very well fail miserably but if you have a positive attitude and see everything before you as an opportunity, you'll very likely succeed.

I'm naturally cynical, but the glass is always full.

You have to go back to Empedocles c. 490-430 BC to figure out that the "empty" portion of the glass contains air.

      Brilliant! XD LOL

Personally, I consider the glass to be full as well.

There's BS everywhere, and intentionally or not, everyone is guilty of spreading it. However, what is rare is finding a place with people who have positive attitudes!

This forum is full of hopes and dreams, and people trying to make them a reality. It's full of helpful people, and full of positive motivation.

Sure, that doesn't account for everyone, but if you found a $100 bill on the street, would you complain because the corners were torn?

Personally, I'd say that the amount of rare good in this forum greatly outweighs the amount of every-day bad.

      How about you guys? ^_^

I agree with you 1 billion percent. If you haven't seen that I do not believe in the half-emptiness of this forum idea, you'd be right. This forum IS half full. There is no half empty about this forum, much as some would like to believe.

And No, I would NOT even notice that the corners of the hypothetical $100 bill was all tore up. For that reason, I would never complain. The $100 dollar bill is just that, a piece of paper gold, what more?

well mant times on this part of the forum there are just some of us chatting about mindset stuff ..or motivational stuff .

if you are a sponge and just taking in as much information as possible .. it may not be the best place to be ..a persons success when it come to the information aspect ..is dependent on finding information that is usefull to them and they can do something with .

aroe you shopping for information, grazing for information ..or hunting for valuable truffles

I've spent a TON of time- wayyyyyy too much- just "hanging out" in the forum.

Meanwhile, my time would usually be better spent actually driving traffic, or creating a product, etc.

But it's a lot easier to just hang out here than actually get work done. Plus it's similar to buying a WSO, where you mentally feel like you're working... even though you aren't really.

How did you break free from "hanging out" to creating a product and etc?

You can waste a lot of time here that is for sure. Many successful marketers will tell you that you need to spend 75% of your time online trying to grow you business.

The other 25% of your time is split between maintenance and personal.

There is a lot of BS here I think we all know that. However I think if you use the WF strategically you can make great connections and help you business grow.

When you login here you need to know what you are going to do not just browse.

Half full. I try not to be a pessimist. I see and hear things that can actually work. It cannot be half empty. I have gotten many times my money's worth from the paid forums, especially.

If you look at it philosophically. I find enjoyment in reacting to interesting threads. And besides, it drives traffic to my blog.

I would say just spend less than 10% of your time here in the forums and spend more time actually doing something - making a difference in the lives of others.

Like anywhere else - not everyone is a saint in here.
But I believe there are still good folks around here.

  • Deep thoughtful personal insights. Congratulations. I consider the WF all half full and happy about that.

May I give my take? Since virtually everything is relative to everything else, the world and all that is functioning in it is doing so in perfection. The play of the opposites I believe it is called.
