hello all,

more and more people are finding there is much greater risk making money working at a job..than unning their own small business or stringing together ways to earn a little cash without a real business model .

at the current rate people are dropping out of the work force there will be fewer people in the work force in the united state than not working a job ..in 4-6 years ..

I openly argue with those who think getting rich should be the goal of getting into business ..and propose people should focus on building an income to support a lifestyle they prefer ..but the first key to that is figuring out what that is ..we have had marketers feeding an image of how we should live sense we where in our mothers womb ..

once you hit the assembly line of the modern world and where conditioned to work a job and sell your hours ..in a structured environment called school where you showed up on time ..changed tasks at the sound of a bell took short breaks at the sound of a bell and finish eating at the sound of a bell..and had to wait for permision to go to the bathroom .

schools are design to teach you how to be an employee ...but today being an employee is the biggest risk anyone can take ..the average is changing jobs every 3-5 years ..and most of the time it wasn't the persons choice .

It is normal for people to lose everything because they had expenses supported by one job and the company chose to free them up to seek other opportunities ..or whatever lame explination for firing someone .

a month ago 800,000 people found out how safe their govrnment jobs are is they are considered non essential .

people have been trained for 12 years then another 4-8 years ..and conditioned to be employees ..

and many of the top earners started conditioning and learning skill to work for themselves at a very early age most because they where not doing well in school ..

if there is one good thing that will come out of the obama care mess ..ir ripped needing a job with benefits away from having insurance ..just at the time when many people are fleeing the working world .

the next thing is a much more simplified tax code that doesn't require expensive professionals to comply ..

which will be another benefit from the obamacare debacle .

with all the effort that was put in to training you to be an employee..how long do you think is appropriate..so learn to make money steadily without a job ..where you have to develope many skills they never bothered telling you about in school .

putting your income. your health insurance, your retirement plan ..your week to week scheduling..has very big risks today

but the traditional view of business is much riskier than needed ..

    Good Morning Odahh

I am curious what this statistic is based on. I'm not doubting your statistic, just curious what it's based on.

    Thanks

The bottom should be:Ability to make a living for our families and enjoy the process(no matter who we are working for. Work "makes the world go around" and is very much needed for our survival. Have a nice day.

I think that it really depends on what type of job you have. Some jobs, like plumbing, electrical work, security installations, etc. will withstand just about anything, and can be quite lucrative. These occupations aren't considered "pretty" or "good jobs", but they are worth a lot more than most other run-of-the-mill jobs out there right now.

Likewise, being trained in these occupations as opposed to going to "normal" colleges will keep one's school loans down and profits up.

But, speaking only of what most people consider to be "normal" jobs, then yes, they are growing increasingly unstable.
