What are some good apps you all use to manage your time and day better to be more productive?

All the apps that I have looked at the time management just end up taking too much time to use!

All I need is Evernote for time management. I use this to apply the Getting Things Done system and it works like a dream.

Because I have it on tablet and smart phone as well as my desktop computer I always have Evernote at hand. So I don't need any other app.

I tried loads of different software and apps over the years and none of them have worked as well as using Evernote to apply Getting Things Done.

I help young adults who are struggling physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially and relationally to take steps today to see results in a matter of weeks without having to go through the pain of buying thousands of books, courses and counseling sessions.

UR Welcome Slingshot. (I gave you Thanks BTW )

I wrote a long post on how I use Evernote for time management which is (currently) in my sig, by the way.

It's brilliant for that purpose as well as all the usual stuff EN is good for !

I tried any.do for the last two weeks, bh, and it had a sweet reminder chime each morning for me, but it's easier just to use Evernote - as long as you tag every To Do you create with a "priority" tag, which = Now, Next, Soon, Later or Sometime. Then you keep those all in a Notebook called To-Do, and everything else in another one called Filing. Then you have Evernote with you everywhere: desktop, smartphone, tablet.

Yeah - but surely that's overkill for most people, frettcarla? That solution is used by Fedex, Xerox and Motorola (isn't that Microsoft now?) For we IMers - one-man bands, or pretty much so - that stuff's just bloatware isn't it?

Keep It Sure and Simple (or the ruder version :| )

That's cool, maybe, if you are talking to 50 or 60 colleagues worldwide: not not for managing your own projects, or chatting to a few outsourcers (Basecamp plus oDesk: brilliant).

Do you agree that Replicon is more for big companies?

I'm using Evernote, too. Really a great software for keeping your notes on time.
On the other note, you can also try using Time Doctor for time tracking, especially if you have projects from a client. Basically, the software works for freelancers who are working from home.

    • It gets pretty ironic when trying to download, learn and use the time management apps that wind up taking more time to use them than the whole process is worth.

I don't think it's as good as using Basecamp - to specify projects and tasks - and oDesk - for outsourcers to logon to, to record their time worked. And my outsourcers like it - one of them even suggested it!
