New to the forum: My first questions about visualization

Hello all, glad to have joined you!

I read the 'Power of the Subconscious Mind' late last year and fell in love with it. In fact, it changed the way I look at things, especially money. Now based on what I read in that book and other related online material, I have the following question

When it comes to visualization, do I need to practice it all the time or only to achieve the success I need and then stop? Say I am in car sales. Let us say I use visualization and successfully go from selling 1 car to 5 a week . Once I hit the 5 car target per week, do I need to continue to visualize (customer coming in, sitting with him/her for a test drive, signing the purchase agreement etc.) or now that I have perfected this and are reaching my sales target, I can stop my visualization since my brain has now perfected the game and knows it well?

Thanks in advance

Wouldn't it make more sense to go from 5 car sales to 10? Let me tell you something I want you to never forget: You must never get complacent. You must never stop trying to better your last achievement. If something works, you'd be a damn fool to rest on your laurels and think you've reached the summit of your potential.

"When you stop fighting for what you want, what you don't want will automatically take over" Can't remember who wrote that quote, but from my experience it's spot on.

    Best of luck.

    Declan.

Ideally you are always growing and expanding your visualizations.

You could just maintain them, but what is the fun in that? : )

Never stop a daily practice of visualizing. It will leave your mind prey to thoughts you are not in charge of.

Make it your custom to visualise ever expanding goals.

I agree with what has been said so far, keep on visualizing yourself ever expanding and ever growing, that is what life is about, growth. Visualization should be part of your daily routine.

This is an excellent question. In my experience what matters is "Focusing on your ideal desired result." ... Anytime I get to that stage where i feel stuck or at a lull, i remind myself to clear my mind, then focus on my desired result or goal. This is what visualization does; it allows you to give your thought to what you desire, and not "why, or when will i get there".

Once you accomplish a certain goal (like your 5 sales per week for instance) your new goal may be to maintain that, or grow to a next level. I would say, just continue to visualize the success. As you probably know, since it seems you have been at goal setting for a while, there is no achievement without action. Visualizing does not make things appear, but it does allow you to believe in potential, so then you can recognize opportunities and jump on them. In my experience it only takes five or so minutes of visualizing a result to have an impact. If it is working, I would say that five minutes is time well spent. Rock on!

  • Once again it depends on what will satisfy you. If you become satisfied with the target of selling five cars a week, obviously you can stop visualizing if you choose. Otherwise go on and on and on and on with it to your heart's contentment.

If you stop visualizing you will stop growing, and if you stop growing you will start moving backwards. You would stop visualizing or focusing on the goal once you achieved it and start focusing on the next goal being bigger. Keep the positive feelings and positive thoughts geared toward your target and you WILL continually achieve your desired result.

Great advice given so far. Always remember to combine emotions with your visualisations.

When it comes to visualizations and other practices and techniques in neural programming/achievement, you want to understand that it is the process that is key, not the goal. You are becoming a person who is able to manifest their desire which can be used for anything. Proficiency in the process is the key to everything you will ever learn. Achieving the goal simply increases your faith in the process. So think about it this way and you will become way more effective in any technique you use.

Great responses. Visualization is an ongoing thing. You are always visualizing whether you know it or not (thoughts are images in the mind), so I would say the goal is to make sure you are visualizing positive outcomes. And for fast results, combine strong emotion with visualization. As Napoleon Hill says, "hold the image of your goal in mind and create a burning desire for its achievement." Or something like that
