Do any of you have these flashes of "genius" that pop into your head. What I mean is you come up with an idea and it just feels like it makes perfect sense. It feels like an Ahah moment.

This usually happens to me early in the morning or in the middle of the night. I've experienced it many times when hung-over oddly enough.

Sometimes the idea or concept will hit me and I'll expand on it and expand on it.

Then, after a while, I'll start to tear it down, and doubt it and eventually I feel like how on earth did I ever think that was a good idea.

This has happened to me many many times. Yet, sitting here today, I can't hardly come up with any specific examples.

I think that this is common for many people. That is why it
has been suggested that one should keep a notebook and
a pen on a bedside table (which is fine if you don't live in
a tent and sleep in a bag).

As far as destroying your nocturnal ideas, why not look at
what is "Good" about them. Find the things that excited you
about the idea and go from there. Not all ideas are great, but
then do they have to be in order to be useful?

What ticks me off is when I think of something when I am in
a situation where I can't write it down, such as when I am
driving, or in a movie (fortunately, there are so few good ones
anymore that I don't go very often).

I digress. I write down and keep ALL of my ideas. It is interesting
that after my father passed away I found a notebook that he kept.
It was filled with page after page of ideas and invention concepts.
By the time that I found his notebook, and looked through it, many
of his ideas had already been marketed. Unfortunately, my father
did not act on very many of his ideas.

Also unfortunate, I find that I can be very much like my father.

P.S. Oh, the tent thing... no excuse. Who needs a table
to put pen and paper on when you sleep on the floor!

All the time! If I could get paid for producing ideas I'd be a very wealthy man.

That is because these out-of-the-blue ideas are requested and received by your subconscious mind. You cannot consciously force them.

When these ideas come, write them down, because they come from beyond.

Some of my best ideas have come when I am not even focused on being creative. I can be hanging out, not even working on my business and I get a flash of an idea. When this happens I write it down and I take action toward it. Ideas are EXTREMELY powerful, and in order for your mind to achieve these creative ideas it must be relaxed and not focused on negative energy. Where I think people make the mistake is they think of a genius idea and they don't think much of it, and it turn they are never able to create there idea because they never take action toward it.
