If your website is built by wordpress, you can find a plugin to install, but if your website is a complex one,it is not easy.

Why don't you go for a 'responsive design'? It eliminates the problem of having two separate websites. You can just have one website and it will look the same throughout all computers and mobile devices.

One kind of introduction of mobile style approach need to use a server-side language such as PHP monitoring user agent string. With this technique, the site detects a mobile device, or provide an appropriate style sheet or the user is redirected to the mobile subdomain, such as m.facebook.com. This server-side approach has several advantages: it ensures the highest level of compatibility, while allowing the site to provide special markup / content for mobile users.

If you don't want to code a mobile site yourself, there are plenty of mobile-design-sites that offer creating a mobile, parallel version of your website for free. I wouldn't bother using ones you have to pay for because it just winds up becoming a hassle. The issue that could occur using a parallel version of your site is google not recognizing it (google may not be able to find it during a search due to the subdomain). The good thing about creating your mobile site using a design site is that your viewers will still be able to use your site on their mobile device..which is a lot better than not having any mobile site at all.

If you're going to build a site in WordPress, go for a responsive template - they are designed to render a site on PC/laptop, tablet and mobile.

Trying to create a mobile version of website is really a kind of outdated tasks nowdays. We can go with something like responsive web development and responsive website design. These kinds of websites have variable kind of CSS that can simply be used not just in diffrent mobile but UP-to all levels of resolutions. They considers percentage of screen not how much pixels.
I suggest go for Responsive and retina ready designs for the websites.
