I think it's more of a complementary application with twitter.
The main reason being that on twitter you can constantly provide updates while with mobile text marketing, you generally want to be more peculiar about the messages you send out the the frequency will differ quite a bit from the twitter updates that you do on a daily basis.

Seeing that twitter's ad platform (if you're talking about paid ads) is fairly new, it still has some growing to do... but we're seeing great results so far after dozens and dozens of different tests.

But at this point, depending on what you're doing, selling, etc., mobile marketing has a vast reach...

I say, try both and see which one works for YOU specifically.

Yaah.. Mobile is better. but i think when you want advertise here with using mobile then it needed personal number. So sometime we did not get real number for sending SMS. But Twitter... we get all information from here easily. So i think Twitter is better for advertising..

Both things depend on the type of targeted user type. Let me explain, if your yours targetted users are less educated or non technical then twitter/fb promotions if useless. i.e., farming instruments for farmers. If your targeted users are technical then social medias are better than mobile marketing. i.e. online clothes shopping or daily deal business.

I agree with you as people spedns less time on twitter and more often on making funny hashtags or just following the celebrities. High profile person do it in serious ways.

In future we are going to see all on mobile as it easy convenient and potable. Now it self mobile sales have gone up while for Pc it's going down. SO targeting mobile user is a good idea. The tablet user comes under this category only!

The success of either mobile advertisement or Twitter promotion would depend on the following -
1. What is your aim?
2. Your Target segment?
3. Your Budget?

For all the above parameters you need to be 100% precise and clear.
If you take my advice and if you do it right then you should not underestimate the power of Twitter. The traffic is massive and the exciting part is that it is a free source. There is only one way to know if mobile advertising or twitter is a more effective medium for your business needs and that is to properly test each. Are you using mobile landing pages and tracking for your mobile campaigns, can a mobile user easily complete your offer?
You can get mobile traffic from twitter too, are you properly segmenting your market? I presume you are using twitter ppc and not trying to compare paid mobile traffic to free twitter traffic. Have you tested twitters various ad types?

You have to be like a scientist and logically test, track then compare results using an equal but adequate amount of traffic from each source. Its the only way to be sure.

Mobile marketing is better than Twitter for one thing, but Twitter is better than mobile marketing at another. Basically, if you're doing SMS marketing, the people have opted-in and are interested in receiving new offer, deals, and news about your product/service. Great! But Twitter is better at broadcasting the news to everyone out there on the 'net who hasn't signed up to receive sms updates. I think that they are quite different ends of the spectrum. For example, people get on Twitter all the darn time, but let’s face it, how many people are actively engaged on their mobile at all times (that is right, everyone is) I think that your ad will speak more than the actual location will. Having said that, I prefer Facebook (it was mentioned earlier) over Twitter.
