This is one of few Tyson fights I'd not seen before but browsing online earlier I was pleased to come across it. Short, sharp and brutal. Thought some of you boxing fans here might like to share the memory.

I was an Iron Mike fan back in the day, no doubt. If you did not catch the 2013 series Being Mike Tyson be sure to see it when you can. It's only six episodes and it's quite good.

One of my favorite episodes was --> On the Shoulders of Giants

When he first started his career he fought around here a lot. At the time his fights here would also be broadcast on public access. At the time he was living in the Catskills with Cus D'Amato which is only a half hour away. In fact Mike's first nationally televised fight was about 6 miles from me at the RPI (Houston) Field House in Troy.

I remember it well. Ferguson took some truly fearsome punishment to the body, particularly in the first round. It's for that reason that he kept his arms down in the later rounds, repeatedly "holding" Tyson, and was subsequently disqualified for it.

That guy has 21 Tyson fights on his channel... I just re-watched Mike take out the TOO OLD Easton Assassin.

On the Being Mike Tyson series in the Feeding the Fire episode he heads back to Cus D'Amato's gym where it all started. The amount of fully taped up bags in there is incredible. I think that's also the episode where they play some home video of them eating dinner together at D'Amato's house when Mike was very young and living with him.

I remember this one like the back of my hand though, he had a ton of trouble with big ol' Buster to say the least. Buster was a 42-1 underdog that night...
