do you believe in Aliens

I suppose I'd believe it if I seen one.

I have a friend who believes that he was abducted by aliens about 20 years ago. Seriously!

He was standing at a bus stop, seen a light and when he went home about ten minutes later, his Mum asked her where he had been because it was about 6 hours later..

He actually reported it to the police and they took it quite serious.

As I said, am not certain, but I suppose it's no more of a mystery than any other religion is it?

A friends brother had a similar experience!

He was walking through a small garden/park in the night by the time he got to the other side it was dawn! nearly 4 hours past..he still has no idea what happened..lol!

True, l ran into someone with a story of going on a camping trip and seeing 4 lights come together and move apart at great speed from space. She also woke up with tini surgical cuts all over her. She was dead serious when saying this.

But as always some will see good supportive evidence and believe that there is something there and others won't believe good evidence short of an alien bopping them on the head, with a tentacle.

Same goes for new tech, some will hide behind established science, and some will test out the idea anyway.

The ones that act, instead of hide, will eventually push society forward, instead of letting it stagnate!

Check the credits at the end to see who funded or directed the UFO special!

If it is gov, funded, then 9 times out of 10, it will either go down the "Aliens are scary" or "will show good or great computer simulations of UFO,s but bugger all of any real footage, or the usual so called expert that trashes it all!

There are also a lot of propaganda UFO things online that are usually as scary as possible. Ignore them, it is crap!

Also raises the question that if UFO's are fake, then why are so many gov, funded shows, etc seem to go down the "as scary as possible route"?

It is because they know, and calling someone dumb doesn't work anymore but scaring the crap out of people does!

My Mars, thread clearly shows ancient junk, and maybe even present stuff?

Maybe we just evolved on two planets at the same time? Or maybe another race developed there, but either way, unless their are schysholigal issues, the Mars thread proves that something is there!

Yes, unfortunately there are, they argue that it was all staged, but seeing the Lunar module a quarter mile away in a video, in 1969 is pushing special effects back then!

There are reports that so many UFO were buzzing around them that they had to fake some of it on Earth, but l can't prove or disprove that one.

But weird lights have been seen on the moon since Galieo, and the first moon landing landed in the thick of it!

Do I believe aliens from outer space are visiting Earth? No, I don't. I don't think I'd be as surprised as a lot of people would if it did happen, but until I see better evidence than I have up to this point, I'm skeptical.

With an untold number of planets, stars, and galaxies, I think it would be damn near impossible for there not to be life out there.
I'm not sure about aliens visiting Earth. There does seem to be evidence in drawings and such from ancient times that would indicate they where here. But there is also evidence that the people living back then did a lot of drugs

There are almost certainly planets with single celled life. Maybe lots of planets with mammalian life (or something close), maybe some (in our galaxy) with intelligent life..and technology.

But have they visited Earth? Are they here now? I have no reason to believe so.

Like I eluded in my precious post. Some would believe that drawings of spaceships and weird looking humans from ancient times is proof aliens visited here. I say it's just proof that the hallucinogens they did back then where really good.

I agree. And we need to define "alien". I don't consider life on other planets/moons to be "alien". They have to come here to be alien.

To take it a step further, it also has to be intelligent life. It's possible simple life organisms were brought here by comets and/or asteroids, etc.

I don't buy the ancient alien theories that aliens visited us to mine gold and other minerals. There's too many other places in the Universe where mining gold would be much easier. There's really no minerals here that aren't more plentiful in other places.

I can only think of three reasons to come to Earth (there could well be others):

Scientific curiousity
Chloroform (plants)
Protein (animals)

Protein and chloroform are substances that are plentiful on Earth but seem to be, at best, very rare in space. However, if aliens are after these two things, it may not be ideal for us, as we are protein.

Interesting, I 've been hearing scientists saying exactly the opposite, gold is rare in the Universe. It's also an order of magnitude more difficult to mine (according to the guy in the video) in other places, at least for us humans. Can you provide a few links to scientific articles about gold being plentiful in other places? It must have been a recent discovery that I have missed. Thank you.

IMO, it would be easier for aliens capable of inter-solar system travel to mine an asteroid than it would be to manipulate human DNA to create "beasts of burden" to mine gold for them, which is a popular ancient alien theory.

The need for gold though does have a bit of logic, as I believe gold reflects infrared light better than any other known material. This would be very useful in space travel as stars put out quite a bit of infrared which could be very destructive to space ships.

But as you said, it's very likely that getting gold from other places would be easier. Earth may well be "hostile" to other life forms. And if you're in space, mine asteroids.

No, I'm not kidding. Do it yourself. I don't see why I should do it for you.

Here's a science tip for you. Every element reflects light through a prism differently as the black bands between the colors give off a distinctive fingerprint for each element. We can tell the elements of many celestrial objects are made of by using this fingerprint.

And what kind of logic is it to spend your time arguing with me instead of doing some research of your own? How about instead of me "proving" anything, you try to learn something? Seems logical to me.

Edit: I did search the internet, but only found some fancy price tags attached to asteroids, nothing specific. On the other hand I watched a documentary recently which explained why gold is plentiful on Earth and rare in outer space. So I thought you had different information.

May I offer a definition of what Kurt is saying? He's saying he doesn't have a link on hand, and since it's a conversation and not a dissertation - if you want to check it out - the resource to do so is a click away. If I had to provide links to stuff I know (some of which I never even knew from online) just to enter a discussion in a forum, I'd go freaking nuts.

The fact there is gold in space - and a LOT of it, is basically common knowledge to anyone who follows the advancement of space travel. It's not some sort of hidden knowledge "theory" type of info. I'm starting to think the search for water might be of the same vein - are we actually looking for water to indicate life - or are we looking for a source to replace the stuff we've completely ruined here?

Side note - - If I were going to have money in space travel for metal - it would be for copper, not gold.

Kurt - I wasn't aware that the Summerian belief had been updated to a modern version. Interesting. It's gonna suck for the gods if they want ME to go underground, though. Not gonna do it. No way, no how.

Well just back from the cruise, fantastic.

What luck, an alien thread.

Never saw any Ufo's at sea but there were a few strange people on board with alien facial hair.

Goatees on the Boatee.

I was keen to see some Mayan ruins on Cozumel but when we got their it was explained that they had all been dynamited by the owner of the land a few hundred years ago. Only the bases remained and a few pillars.

The guide (Jesus) was a direct decendent from the Mayan lineage and very passonate and knowledgeable about their history. The end of the world calendar stuff he said was all bunk popularized by the media.

There, you heard it, straight from Maya mouth.

You've touched upon something since "infinity" means a beginning but no end.

The GIF analogy would maybe make sense since you need to start it...but it does end when you stop it, assuming it is relative to you only as the perceiver.

The figure of eight symbol for "infinity" is questionable given that it doesn't have a starting point. It's a symbol more apt for "eternity", which has no beginning and no end, unless the "starting point" is when the infinity symbol was manifested.

I must say, Dan the fiverr man is a much deeper thinker than I thought.

Now it would be helpful if we could identify which things and beings are eternal and which are infinite. I suspect we are infinite so we will have a long time to figure it out.

That "theory" is ancient religion. The Enuma Elish (Summerian creation text) tells that is why god created humans - to mine gold for the Gods. It doesn't go on to say much about who the gods were that they needed gold.

Earth has been here for billions of years. I don't find it so odd that it might have been visited. We went to the moon - and are planning to get to mars. There's also a lot of commercial going on that is pointed to space mining.

If there is life on other planets, we don't know what they would or wouldn't find here that would be of interest to them.

I do know we've found some rather unique stuff embedded in coal and rock that could use some explanation. Don't expect the Smithsonian to be telling you about them, though - at least not unless someone came up with some evidence that were to prove visitation beyond a shadow of a doubt .......then they've got plenty of "proof" to haul out of the warehouse.

BTW - who is it that thinks mining on earth is so simple? Perhaps they should look up the lists of people that have died (even in recent years with our technology) doing it. It's dangerous work. Go to Wallace Idaho and ask them. Most people there had relatives who died in a mine fire or cave in.

Using humans to mine for gold is also a theory preposed by ancient alien theorists today. They added the DNA tweaking. Ancients weren't aware of DNA.

Going to the moon or Mars is nothing like intergalatic travel. And while it's possible that aliens have visited Earth, there's a difference between possible and probable.

It's also possible that these "aliens" are actually an advanced Earth life forms, evolving here and not coming from other places. Again, possible but not probable.

But i know that truth is out there. Aliens that kidnap people and visit us are here, but now there is new theory that this are humans from future time-traveling. Think about that!

  Just had another random thought about aliens.
  What if aliens landed here thousands of years ago and because of something in the atmosphere contracted real amnesia. Not the phony type where you forget somethings and remember others, but real amnesia where they all forgot everything, even basic skills like communication. That would make them dumber then cavemen. Now the aliens that didn't land yet, retrieved the space ships and put Earth on their list of planets to stay away from.

Seriously guys, I had an experience back in about 2007 that I lost a couple of hours and a dog leash and my primatine mist. I was pretty shaken up, although I never ever thought I was abducted by aliens and still do not believe that. When I came in the forum and told the experience, though, people only had things to say such as "what were ya smokin'" and accused me of believing I was abducted by them, so I never told any of the details. Just dropped it.

The truth is that people could actually see something like that happen and would not believe that it happened unless it fit their belief system already.

Ofcourse they exist, Universe is a very large place, for the lack of better words. Did they ever visit Earth? Are they still visiting it? I would say yes, but we can't be really sure, can we?

Although I'm a believer, I roll my eyes at "ancient aliens" series. I found it interesting at first, but they pushed it too far :S.

It's a well known FACT there have been at least 12 aliens in our solar system, plus lots of alien probes as well.
