WOW! The cat is OBVIOUSLY responsive, alive, etc.... but it just is VERY interested in whatever, and tracking it. This is even ODDER here since cats generally have more freedom when they do that sort of thing. THIS cat likely would have had trouble acting on any intel, being in a window sill and all.

BTW next to eating, I think I would not want to bug the cat like this woman did. The cat might scratch or bite.

    Steve.

All animals that stalk their prey show a similar focus. Dogs, cats, birds, all of them.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Nah, I have had several cats for decades and when they are tracking something like a bug or a bird they often go trance like....I have had absolutely no worries at all on scratching or biting. Cat eyes are designed to detect objects in motion so they sometimes stay really focused on small motionless stuff so they don't lose sight of it. Plus, cats can do a great job of ignoring you when they want too.

This is my cat Bobbi Girl spying a potential target.

Well, I WAS talking abut tracking things OUTSIDE. And YEAH, cats ignor a LOT, but animals in general have times when they don't want to be disturbed.

Yep, I had cats most of my life, and most of them would
do something like this from time to time-- usually the first
time they saw a bird, or a fish.

No doubt a contributing factor to why cats are the most
    successful predator on the planet?

My last full blood rottie would get focused like that. When he did I knew it was trouble if I didn't break his focus. Man, that dog was hard headed.

I bug my cats all the time - and they do have that singular focus when they see a bird or squirrel outside the window.

I've had four cats - one for 21 years, ET, I never saw anything like that focus. Or, a lot of what they
do in YouTube clips. Gato, my childhood cat was buddies with our Cocker Spaniel. They would
play hide and seek in tall grass.

Is that Sal's dog in clip three? Amazing leap at 1:33.

Gorgeous Dog! Not like mine though. I had better control of my dog. She's lucky he's as small as he is. Munchie would have pwned her.
