In the USA parents want their child to become successful
In Asia parents want their child to be educated
In Eastern-Europe parents want their child to be healthy

If you could choose one option, what would you wish your child to be in the future?

        If I had to choose just one, I would choose happiness above all else.

        Success doesn't always bring happiness, because many times you have to work way too hard and long to maintain that success, be under way too much stress and miss valuable time with your loved ones. And well, some of the wealthiest people I've met are in fact, miserable!

        Education doesn't always bring happiness either, I mean look at all of the educated people who can't find a good paying job in their career field due to the poor economy.

        Healthy is good, but it doesn't ensure happiness. I know many healthy yet sad and lonely people.

      Then I feel sorry for the child.

      There are so much more meaningful things in life to be happy about, well, with the exception of health.

    I don't like the question. As parents, we have a huge influence over how our kids turn out.

    I don't need to wish for anything for my child. I can show them how to get it.

    I have a son (an adult now). To me, my primary job was to prepare him for life without me holding his hand. When he was 5 years old, I just wanted him to be happy. When he was 18 years old, I really wanted him to be responsible. Because that will make him happy for his entire life....long after I'm gone.
