Have a shower if you feel runny and smelly.

On a serious note do you have a job? Can you eat ok?

No one will send you cash in the mail but we may be able to offer advice if we know a bit more.

If I find some dark Toblerone in the shops I'll send some over if you like?

Just get inside the pigeon's mind instead of the bald guy's head.

Then you'll be able to laugh your arse off and you know what is said...Laughter maketh good like medicine.

This is the first time I've noticed your signature. Is that a new addition?

It's time to get back to business. Stop the nonsense posts in OT and get out in the forum and talk intelligently in graphics related threads. Try helping some people out in your area of skill. It'll reap a lot more rewards than posting junk in OT.

YAY, at least you got rid of the first avatar image, much better and more constructive!

Yes, had a look, nice site!

I am in the market, (well soon will be) for a part time graphic artist to do high end flyers for me, but l am mainly looking at overseas artists at cheap rates, (well cheap compared to AU).

I suspect that you rates might be out of my budget, but let me know if you like!

Have you considered Graphicriver? Might be a good outlet if you are twidding your thumbs?

It fluctuates as well, but if you diversify, then it can be quite lucrative, it can certainly make a full wage and then some!

      Hey Carpet,
The OT is a place to blow off steam and just chill and veg out.

I am not saying you necessarily but there are many here who make this place a Destination .Rather it should be just part of the Journey...i.e a place to 'come up for air' and reboot your batteries.

Now get out there and leave the basement for awhile

P.S. Make that Sig a little more descriptive and eye catching. Ex. " You need Professional graphics ?? I got you covered !! Been doing this for 10 years ! This is what I do !! This is What I know ! This is What I Live for "
      or something like that

Excellent advice, Robert! I like that sales snippet you posted. If I needed graphics right now and saw that in someone's signature, it would certainly get my attention and I'd probably contact them for more information.

Yeah that personal trainer idea is a good one- been thinking about it as well. Might advertise locally and try and get some female clients (or even male)

I thought about this for awhile. I had a Total Gym for a long time. Really excellent 'Mobile ' Workout.

It got me cut pretty good.

I thought about Upgrading to their Heavy Duty model and just having a 'Workout to Go' Biz where I would pack the Total Gym and go to people's houses to train them.

Start out at around $30 hour or so.

        Build up a clientele.

This is something that people would definitely buy into.

And the Total Gym is perfect for a mobile business like that.

OP you may want to start with your avatar. Surely you can design something better than that?
Then explore other marketing avenues, Elance, Fiverr, etc....

Also, additional income streams don't hurt. I OWN a cosmetic company, but I also have.... Jewelry biz op, and I'm a Dubli affiliate, Amazon affiliate, iTunes affiliate, and in the OWN Wealth Network.
Yes...they all tie in, but that's because I MADE THEM TIE IN!

Have you tried searching at indeed.com?

You can specify various parameters including remote, telecommuting, etc.

I did a search for 'graphic design' jobs and it returned just under 20,000 jobs; graphic designer returned just under 11,000 jobs; graphic design illustrator - 6100 jobs.

Check it out and good luck.

      Budget, hmmmmm, good question?

All l know is if l hire someone from the right country, at $125 a month, then l could make this work!

Hopefully after that, they can produce enough flyers, with enough getting accepted to make it worth my while.

So if they could probably produce lets say 5 high end flyers per month, with a few getting accepted.

Hopefully they could use their own graphic backgrounds, etc. And could pass on the full rights to me, or l can lend them mine, (l have about 750 images, and/or elements).

So, to answer your question, probably $25 per flyer!

We can negotiate, but l couldn't pay much more than that at present, regardless if you require images from me or can supply your own?

Anyway give it some thought, go over to GR, to get an idea of what l require, and PM me if interested, (or if you can't PM, yet then tell me here, and l will)!

At worst you will get some work, for a while and l will get some flyers, and l don't care if the flyers are quick ones, (not the usual model with disco ball background, etc) it just needs to be accepted and sell!

Sorry Mods, l know that l am going on a bit, but l will PM, if WC is interested!

Phew, another one, yep have to have that mentality when doing flyers full time! l enjoy doing them, but the rejections suck!

Fiverr groan, yes, go over there say you will do any graphic work, and you are virtually guaranteed to get paying customers.

You are also guaranteed to get difficult gigs, work a good hour or two for virtually nothing, and think twice about it?

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and did the design!

I have also tried them for flyers, and eventhough they did their best, either would be immediately binned if l sent them to GR.

Hope to hear from you soon WC?

Yes, go over to Fiverr, create a new account, and create a gig, that you will do anything graphics based.

I know that l knocked it before, but maybe l was a bit quick!

I did help a young graphic artist who approached me asking for some work, (she was new and had zero orders).

So, l helped her out, gave her an order and positive review, (eventhough l couldn't really use the finished piece).

That is one hidden trick on Fiverr, go through the comments and find someone who has ordered some graphics gigs a few times; then approach them asking for a break!

I just checked on her progress, l gave her her first order just over 2 weeks ago, and now she has 11!

So she has made $44 net profit, probably close to $100 over a month so far!

So consider it WC, if an extra $100 or so, will help! Your Elance business and Fiverr don't need to clash.

And this is only one gig, graphic artists are in big demand over there, for obvious reasons!

Anyway thought that l should offer this advise, it should help if you give it a try!

        All the best.
