Not sure about this one though. Pastor's routinely put up titles meant to attract attention. Has anyone actually interviewed them? that could be a title for a few different subjects/

My point is that if the religious people who want to impose their religion on the rest of society - had their way, this society would be like Saudi Arabia who just publicly whipped a man for insulting their religion.

Meh I don't know where that is coming from or about. I was just referring to the picture this thread is about and a message on a church property doesn't impose anything on anyone.

I'm just saying I can think of three different messages that could be about without meaning kissing a girl is the cause of going to hell.

Again Pastor is married and has a son so hes ummm done more than kiss.

I just threw out my feelings about some religious people who would love to dominate this society. They have influence but they'll never dominate and that's a good thing IMHO.

Ahh don't listen to her (another reason according to Claude I am probably heterosexual) so didn't know that. I get it now. I was wondering what the big deal was. Still, though I can think of some better things to put on a church sign the sentiment is not surprising coming from a church.

  I used a (?) in both my posts because I wasn't sure. Claude's post unintentionally confirmed he knew it's actually Katy Perry, by responding to my question. That there is what they call irony.
  
  Seriously, I know of the song because of the controversy it caused and it was discussed on some of the talk shows...but I really wasn't sure it was Katy Perry, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Exactly. A few hundred years ago over a million women were burned alive. Their offenses at times were sometimes as blasphemous as not allowing a traveling church rep to force sex on them. There were other murders, too - all it took is not giving 100% obedience to church officials.

Religion is not a matter of governance. It's a matter of individual belief. You can kill everyone in the world for not obeying you - but you can't force them to believe anything they don't want them to believe. We need to be adult enough, and freedom minded enough, to understand what individual freedom is all about. Without freedom of faith - there is no such thing as "freedom".
