He was 95 years young.

Probably not a lot of people my age around that don't remember McHales Navy.

      No harm no foul. I hadn't known he had died. My mom got me into older movies (generally much tighter storylines than a lot of stuff that come out today)so I knew of him.

        Yeah, special effects are sometimes used to hide poor storylines nowadays. But however amazing a special effect is, it won't hide a crappy story.

        I didn't either. Made perfect sense to me when I saw it. Now I have to wonder why someone posted it, though. They posted it as if it was yesterday - no punchline or lead in to a different story - just a RIP and a pic of him. I guess some people are just really hard up for entertainment.

        After a very long and detailed autopsy it has been announced that the fossilized remains of Terry the Trilobite, crushed by a large humanoid, fossilized footprint, had been a murder. The mystery assailant got away on foot heading east but the tracks stopped abruptly near the imprint of what looked like landing gear.

        Based on the size of the footprints, police are looking for a 3 toed, 8 foot alien who would be about 100 million years old. If you see someone fitting this description (especially if you are a Trilobite) stay away as he's thought to be dangerous.
