Whats with the profusion of exclamation marks in headlines.

and all capitals?

Bought a Coffee In Starbucks!!!!!!

THIS PLUGIN IS AWESOME!!!!!

Looking through the WSO forum it looks like a bunch of 4 year olds have been left loose with The My Potatoe Exclamation Stamping kit!!!!

In fairness I used to spell it with an 'e' Tim. I think it's because it's there in the plural (potatoes) but not singular (potato).

At least that's what I told myself when I realised I was spelling it wrong.

When are you lot going to understand the mercy rule? Just because we can't spell, we still take part, think how my feelings are now knowing you spell it properly and the rest of the English speaking world, apart from Canada, which is French or something, spell it differently?

This is starting to remind me of that high school netball game where Upwinchester Girls beat South Noningtons Knitting Club 12,567 points to 3 and the winning coach was shot on the spot for unfair sportswomanship.

Just my reference to the game recently over your way where the guy got suspended, think it was basketball, I just used netball because I'm a Limey. I think it was 120 - 2 or something. You were in the thread.

We have basketball here. I used to play netball with the girls at school though, for the privileges that came with shower time.

Netball is quite different from Basketball, I didn't realise you didn't have it. It's strictly a girls sport really, I wouldn't really have risked asking to play it in my school.

Basketball is played by both sexes and is much more popular now but I believe before basketball really came here (and I never played it at school though and I don't remember being given an option to. I had a ball and hoop in my back garden so it was definitely here then though) girls just played netball and boys pretty much played football (soccer) and rugby.

Heaven knows how it's changed since I was there. Boys probably do ballet in pink leotards nowadays and actively try and become the school netball captain.

Perish the thought.

Here you go, apparently it derived from earlier forms of basketball in the 1890's.

I don't think I've ever heard of it. Apparently, we Yanks have an international netball team...with one actual American on the team. Everyone else, including the coaches, are expats from other countries.

In fairness, I don't ever recollect watching a game. I have watched plenty of basketball though. I didn't actually know we had an international team or we went to the Olympics over netball. I just remember girls playing it at school.
