I know you probably mean over there but I think up North here has a bit of snow but down south the best we got was a cm or 2. It was all gone a few hours later.

16.7 inches is a lot, certainly haven't seen snow like that here ever.

Hope you're all stocked up and prepared. I remember a few years ago here there were more injuries from people slipping over than anything else so watch your step!

Now, any chance of some pictures? I bet it looks amazing.

Amazing? Not so much. It's been pretty windy so there's no snow in the trees. That is what makes beautiful pictures.

I did enjoy watching the neighbor's big dog frolicking in the snow a bit ago.

Anyway, I haven't ventured out yet, but when I first looked out the front window this morning, I wondered where the white SUV parked in the drive way came from. Then I was able to read the first 3 digits of the license plate and realized that it was really my silver low profile sports car! Haha!

But that is how high the snow is on it.

Perhaps after I get the vacuuming and dusting done, I'll venture out and take a few shots.

Last Monday we had a very significant blizzard. Today is just a "regular" snow storm. We will probably end up getting another foot or so.
My workout later today will be shoveling snow.

11 inches here in C.R. and an inch or two of watery wintery mix before that making the roads treacherous. My wife was snowed in yesterday but the roads were sorta plowed this morning so we could make it out of our hilly neighborhood today. 40 mile an hour winds and very chilly temps made yesterday one of the worst and driftiest days of the winter for us.

The trees are beautiful though as they are snow and ice covered making it look like a fluffy white winter wonderland everywhere.

Yeah, I debated whether to even check to see what weather.com said. Based on snow fall I got last night, I was figuring that today or tomorrow you guys would get AT LEAST twice as much precipitation as we got that time when they acted like it would be horrible last week.

BTW I was debating even whether to go out today, because the streets DO seem to have a lot of snow.

Of course it would be more noticeable as snow than it would as rain.

It looks like you got the heavy, wet fluffy stuff. We only got the light powdery stuff here. As a matter of fact there is a blowing snow and drifting advisory out for today.

We're up to 12in. here with at least 4in. more expected before it stops. Right now it's 11F. outside going down to -2F. tonight with the winds starting it's expected we'll have wind chills around 30F. below.

Aren't you out in either Central or Western NY? I would think that this snow isn't too traumatic this year if so. Did you get one of the "I survived the Blizzard of 78" sweatshirts?

  it was wild and reminded me very much of my childhood when we would get epic snowstorms like this

  I do remember the snowstorms of '78. Set out the garbage for pickup during a dry day...I think it was a couple of months before the snow quit so it could be picked up The snow just kept on coming day for what seemed like months afterwards.

WOW. And thought I had it bad when we got 5 inches a few months ago after they said only a trace. I hate being snowed in.

I'm an outdoor person. But if the snow gets too bad I just prefer to stay inside.

I hate walking through it and the mess it tracks into my house.

We got a few flurries yesterday here. But it didn't stick at all. You could just barely see the snow.

Today it was 58F and tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 28F. I wish the weather would stay in the 70'S.

Good news though we should get some 70's and Saturday the 7th it's supposed to hit 75F.

I'm all ready for it. I'm tired of the cold.

Well, I am snowed in! LAST WEEK, I was supposed to have an important appointment, but they had no record of it and LIED to me. I had to go in TODAY, at the WORST possible time! I had trouble getting out, but couldn't get back in. I parked on the street. At this rate, in 2-3 hours, my car could be hidden in snow. I guess I am expected to get a nice big 4X4 with knobby tires. OH, AND a nice snow blower.

If you live where it snows a lot, Steve, that's really not such a bad idea. There are places you can live that don't get snow if you are adamant about not being prepared for it.

I ended up with 16in. from the storm Monday. Tonight we're suppose to get 3 more and there's another storm coming in this weekend. At least the temps went up to 30 F. today. Of course the temps. are going back down to the low 20's during the day and sub zero at night tomorrow

Well, I usually PLAN for this in such cases. I ALMOST bowed out of the important second attempt at this meeting, because I thought I might have this problem. Anyway, I have often not been here at such times. Since I was laid off, I have had more time to be here. And I have been spending too much lately. My car broke down, my tire almost exploded, I had to get new glasses, I had to get a new window, etc.... Just THOSE few things cost me over $6000! So I really do have to work at getting more done for less.

BTW where I used to live, it apparently showed for about 10 minutes in the almost 40 years I was there. The snow didn't stick though, and was light. So YEAH, I know some places have far less snow.
