. . . via the battery in your phone.

"We are approaching the point where the only safe way to use your phone is to pull the battery out - and not all phones let you do that."

Well, one of my pet peaves, for a LONG time, has been that you can't turn off or reset things like computers today!

There USED to be a recessed, or obscured switch that you could easily press to reset such devices. NOW, if it even exists, it is often a little switch below a hole you must access by using a paper clip! INCREDIBLE! There USED to be a switch called a power switch, that allowed you to turn off the power. NOW, it is usually GONE, and replaced by a switch that REQUESTS that you turn it off. My last computer would actually turn back on AUTOMATICALLY, after you turned it off!

Kim Kommando, in a recent show spoke of an iphone virus that could eaves drop on you, etc... and would merely APPEAR to turn off!

The ability to physically remove/change batteries is one reason I insisted on avoiding iPhones as an option for regular use. You can't be sure the phone is off if the battery is in it.
