"Gratitude" was the word-of-the-month for my *son's jiu jitsu class, so I made a video about it:

* 4, almost 5.

    Well, I would define it as appreciation for what others do for you, or a cause you support, that is so sincere that you would acknowledge it positively in some meaningful way.

    So I can't really have gratitude for someones talents, unless I am exposed to some of the fruits of those talents, etc... If I like the person or cause, or am exposed to the fruits, I may have appreciation for the creator or teacher, and show gratitude to THEM.

    Your video is nice, but it dances around that line a lot.

        (Sorry, I know your post was a gift)

        Adam; I think think you're probably a very good father. What did your Son think of the video?

          I try to be, but my son is not usually impressed by my work, LOL (typical son in that way, I guess). In contrast, he was very impressed with this, to which I have no connection whatsoever (but I was impressed by it as well)

      That's a self-centered reaction and I think misses the point of the message. Gratitude is nothing more (or less) than feeling grateful. You can be grateful that talented people exist even if you don't benefit directly from their talent. You can be grateful for the diversity of life on the planet while only experiencing a fraction of it. It's simply an attitude.

      Cool video, TB.

    Adam, nice video. If you don't mind answering, what software are you using for the text effects?

      I'm guessing Explaindio, although PowerPoint could do something similar.

      Explaindio with VMFX slides.

      Like Kurt said, it is true that a lot can be done with Power Point. Here's a video, combining Power Point effects with Explaindio and VMFX and a dash of PhotoFunia (that I made for an artist):

        Thanks guys. I bought Explaindio when it first came out and still haven't gotten around to installing it. I guess I'd better make some time for it. It's just that I'm in the middle of a huge project.

            That was a nicely done video. If your son doesn't appreciate the work now, perhaps he will when he is a lot older and has a better understanding.

              Of course, that's all right. He appreciates lots of stuff and points it out to me all the time, making me see things I otherwise would have missed.

    Gratitude is a feeling expressing pleasure for what one has as opposite to, for example, a user driven special importance on what one wants.
