We all love to complain and moan but I'm seeing real progress when it comes to moderating the Warrior Forum recently.

It's easy to jump in and enforce written rules - much more difficult to begin to understand the undercurrent, tricks and nuances some people used to get around the rules.

More and more I see moderators taking charge and correcting those trying to take advantage here in one way or another.

I do think you've got a handle on it - keep up the good work!

For a while there - it seamed like no matter how many people
complained about a obvious spam thread it stayed around forever.

Now, when I report an obvious spam it disappears within minutes
the not quite so obvious ones take a little longer -
perhaps research ... perhaps waiting on approval?

Doesn't matter - like you said it's definitely getting better.

If we can stop hemorrhaging members and start
getting new members interested in anything other then
sig spam ... this place just might have a chance to survive

It's not new - many of us have come and gone from here at various times. It's a forum - not a lifestyle

They are still around - on Facebook and in skype groups. The balance of the forum has changed. This is a newbie marketing forum now and you can only post the same basic advice so many times before you go do something else. There are always "new experts" to pick up the slack.

Yes, some of the more wiser Members had a strong suspicion that positive results like we are seeing would be coming eventually ; and just having patience and letting things workout was the most prudent and sensible course of action to take as with most anything in Life

Some people did not heed this advice and are unfortunately no longer with us anymore.

It's the "Oh no, look the sky is falling" mentality that does not usually bode well in most circumstances like this

These are the same people who can't put themselves in other peoples' shoes , and they lack the intelligence to personally reflect of what it was like to be the 'new guy on the block' and the learning curve associated with it !! Consequently, they just resort to a bunch of silly abrasiveness, insults, and disrespect showing their true colors

Let's face it - it's taken a full year to see some of the crappola now being curbed but at least you can clearly see it happening now.

I'm not convinced the problem was training of mods - I think at least some of it was perception/control by management. If you hire people to do a job you need to grant them the authority to do the job well.

It may be a step forward but probably not singing the victory dance, last week I made a comment in regards their headers above the forums along with the search keywords embedded.

It was a general comment and not nasty or anything but it was deleted in vain that we only want to see what we want to see and to polish the forum per se.

Yet in the same forum there is a who knows a xyz poster and each week its hit by spammers responding to an outdated spam post, yet it remains.

So deleting stuff just to make it look pretty or to bury your head to real feedback is probably not cool and in addition we still have images not working ? 12 months in now since the change ? Then again yes I suppose it has improved a little so well done on that.

In regards to wanting a polished forum, don't you think the new owners had a preconceived notion on what exactly they wanted the forum to be like? That they had their own set of goals in mind?

What we have to realize is that the forum is not a democracy meaning we all don't get to vote on what is and what isn't. What stays and what doesn't. What will happen and what won't.

Also, if you put yourselves in the new moderator's shoes, you just might understand that this was new territory for them. Imagine having, at that time, the most successful, popular IM Marketing Forum in the world. You're coming in brand new and don't understand the nuances on the way things are around here with the members that have been around much longer than you have, and yet, you have your "orders" on what moderating will entail here.

Or if the new moderators were here before, now there is new management and even though you know some old members, know what moderators tolerated and what they didn't before, the game and the scope of what some of the rules meant have changed now. And yet, you must do what you've been told to do by the new management. It's your job.

I think either scenario would be quite intimidating. At least to me it would be.

Anyway, every "new thing" is like a pendulum. At first it swings too far to the left, then it swings too far to the right, and then, eventually it gets on an even keel. That's probably what we are experiencing right now. The pendulum swing evening out.

        Terra,
This is one of the most common sense replies I have seen here at WF in sometime

It amazes me of the maturity level of some of the Members here in the last 6 months.

It really reminded me of JR. High.

You know... if change comes about were going to complain and whine because it is just not fair. Boohoo

Gimme a break people . Grow up

When you call people "Liers" and tell them to "get their heads out of the sand " ( i.e. get your head out of your ass) , do you honestly think that is a productive way to handle the situation ?

There is a huge difference in voicing your concerns in a civil manner and voicing it with inflammatory replies and insulting language.

These Owners are the OWNERS of WF and they owe us nothing !

True, but they don't own the members.
And when all the ones with a bit of common sense have left,
there isn't a forum, just pages of giberish.

I suppose it comes down to one's perspective.

For instance, obviously I have stayed even though I contemplated leaving. When weighing my decision, I felt that I wouldn't necessarily be leaving the forum, per se', but would be leaving the friends that I have made here that have also decided to stay.

I really didn't have the heart for that.

That is my perspective, and I in no way am dissing anyone else who has left. I'm sure they had their own perspective as well and had to follow their own hearts.

But I am just froth with curiosity about your statement. If you're inferring all of those with just a bit of common sense have left, but yet you're still here...

They do work Saturdays. They just don't start as early. One is online now because a thread I reported has disappeared. There's only two spammers. The love doctor who is no stranger to this forum and uses a bot to mass post and the live stream spammer, also no stranger to this forum.

Makes no difference to me. I relate events by my time, not everyone else's time. It's Sat morning to me and one thread was just deleted after hours of this particular spamming infestation. Either it hit the threshold to self delete or someone is working.

Wow! What a boring, little, insignificant life that one gets their thrills from bot spamming.

That spammer is really insidious. He now has many user names going and hundreds of threads started. It's a real mess. I remember this one from over a year ago. Did the same thing. Same message.

This is one of the remaining problems - on weekends. It's clear there are times when NO mods are looking at the forum. I don't care if it's AM or PM - there is NO excuse for allowing bots and spammers to take over for an hour or more weekend after weekend.

Is the function still active that deletes a thread if a certain number of members report it? If so, that may be why it "appeared" there was a mod on duty.

To me, this is not the moderators' fault - it's the owners who are not staffing correctly.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious no mod is on duty right now. The spam is still here. It wasn't any different with the previous owner. Weekends were always a lot slower to get stuff deleted and spammers always knew weekends were the best time for spamming.

That could have disappeared because of more people reporting it.

Noticed how anyone who questions is swiftly attacked, labeled and discredited not by the mods or admin but by the "new experts" who obviously have something to gain.

If you don't tow the party line of everything you read is true, anyone irrespective of time or knowledge WILL eventually make their millions online, there are no fakers or cheats online it's all legit etc. they will come after you...

          So true, Les.

Sadly many recent "here's how I did it" or "here's how to do it" threads have been straight copy/paste from other sites online.

Then again, if someone is posting about some level of success - and not leading people on or trying to sell to them....we should not knee-jerk and automatically assume it's not true. Not everyone is a poser and there are some new members who have worked in their own businesses either offline or online for some time. It doesn't take long to see who is posting from experience and knowledge and who isn't but sometimes it pays to give people a chance...or rope if you prefer.

While I agree with you to some extent Kay,
like if it was used as an answer to a question maybe.

But to start a thread with "I make blah blah blah doing this"
Just doesn't cut any ice and never will.

And when they throw a tantrum when called out,
