Some movies have deep impact on our minds. They tend to influence our line of thinking and can also trigger out a change in our mindset.

So which one is the best motivational movie? Guess there are so many, based on real life examples.

Personally I find 'The Peaceful Warrior' to be among the best!!

I can't say that any movie I have ever seen has had that effect on me. Not that I can recall, anyway.

The first "Rocky". The movie itself and that the then unknown Stallone made it his vehicle
to make it as an actor.

The only down-side to that is that it gave us Sylvester Stallone. :-) Can you say, Judge Dread?

        And "Rhinestone".

Of all the movies that Stallone starred in, I've only seen Rocky I II IV (IV because it was recently on
cable during a Rocky marathon), Nighthawks, and Paradise Alley.

That's the movie I was thinking about. It was the only movie that made me want to work harder.

That used to really motivate me, and still does, but only to a point. When Stallone came clean about steroid use and then tried to defend it, it really shocked me. It's still inspiring, but not like it was.

I liked "Over The Top", too.

I learned how to do one arm pushups from that movie. :<)

I've been out of touch with celebrity doings for at least a decade. (Except for Taylor Swift.:<) ) I did not
know Stallone had a steroid use deal.

It reminds of a longtime, local morning radio talk show host who cautioned about meeting idols
because it's sometimes a let down. Maybe often.

On the Stallone note, 'Over The Top'.

It showed me what over confidence and having people around you that are afraid to say NO can do.

Sylvester Stallone movies motivate me as well - to avoid watching them. To this date I haven't seen any of the Rocky films, and that's fine with me.

I can't recall any movie ever that has motivated or inspired me, however this scene is always good for a pick-me-up with its message of how to deal with life's constant barrage of setbacks and disappointments.

    The Outlaw Josey Whales.

The man is damn near killed while those awful "red legs" kill and pillage his family, and he survives, becomes a legendary gunfighter and gets revenge on the guy that killed his family using his own sword!

How can you not be motivated by that?

"You gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?"

"Dying ain't much of a living - boy!"

"Buzzards gotta eat. Same as the worms."

"Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is" (how can this NOT motivate you!)

"When I get to likin' someone, they ain't around long."

"I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas, sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches."

"Never paid him no mind; you were there."

"You get those holes a-leakin', I'm gonna whomp you with a knotted plow line."

    "I reckon so."

My favorite movies to watch are usually action - disaster - sci-fi to some extent.

Yet when asked "favorite" the one movie that always comes to mind is "Somewhere in Time" - a Christopher Reeve movie from 1980.

This might be kind of weird, but: I find There Will Be Blood inspiring.

I think the opening scene (silver mine --> assay office) is a testament to the high price-of-admission each of us pay at the gates of entrepreneurship.
