Yep. Understanding women is much more like interpreting a poem written in Sanskrit. You have to learn an entire dead language before you can even attempt to understand.

Absolute truth. School teaches you basic skills and knowledge to be employable. But highly successful people are not employees. Life outside of schools teaches more valuable skills and knowledge.

Hey Congratulations. Feels good to have it over, doesn't it? Ya know - when I graduated I swore I would never step foot in another school. By the time I was 50 all I wanted to do is go back (although I know damned well the social life would not be the same, LOL).

You really did pick a good field for monetary interests. More importantly -- science never becomes boring. Real research doesn't always give you the conclusions you want to see - but you will never be bored. I call that a 100% win/win situation. Ya did good.

Congrats Butters and all the best. I graduated from the UK with a medical degree and M.Sc and so I am quite aware of the environment for research. I would think carefully before deciding to embark on a Ph.D. Research scientists have just about the lowest paid and insecure and toughest jobs around. I know many people with Ph.D. who are surviving on 2 year research grants that may not be renewable. You only get job security if you get a tenure as a university scientist. You will get much higher pay in the private sector but the jobs aren't that secure either. As a result, many end up doing jobs that are completely unrelated to what they graduated in.

The idea for now is to get into a lab, become HCPC registered and that will open up my chance for much more jobs... Gain some experience in the NHS and then move on privately but I'll take any experience I can get right now
