I just got back from the vet with Lexi. She went for her third vaccination and now weighs 13.1 pounds!

That's from 9.54 a week ago Friday and from 6.7 the Friday before that!

Yep, she's growing, lol!

What the heck are you feeding her, Terra - small children, lol?!

Seriously, though, it's great to know she's thriving and growing. As a Doxie, what's her projected adult weight? I'm guessing no more than 25 pounds, if that?

The vet reassured me today that Lexi is normal. She originally guesstimated her grown weight to be between 20 and 25 pounds because Beagles' adult weight is between 20 and 22 pounds and a Doxie's is from 16 to 30 pounds, depending on their body height and length.

She still thinks Lexi is on track for the 20 to 25 pound range and told me not to worry as right from birth until the age of 6 months will be the most rapid phase of growth and it will slow way down after that. Lexi should be done growing completely by 12 to possibly 13 months.

That made me feel better, lol!

She told me again that Lexi is perfect not too thin, not too fat, but pretty much perfect.

I like the perfect part because to me, she really is in every way! =)

Oops, meant to say "Doxle" not "Doxie".

I haven't been around a puppy on a regular basis in years - I'd forgotten just how fast they grow! Doubling her weight in just over two weeks, though, is impressive.

And to have the vet say her weight is perfect after all she's been through is icing on the cake!

      Not at all! Haha!

And she apparently is making up for lost time. She is learning things at a fast rate too.

She now plays fetch with me with a stick, her ball, and two types of frisbees. The regular disc type and the rubber ring type.

And yes, she brings it back to play a little tug of war, then drops it at my feet and waits for me to throw them again.

      She truly is amazing.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that she loves frog legs! LOL!

There is a big white Heron that walks the edge of the pond every morning and catches frogs, but apparently doesn't like the legs.

But Lexi finds them and considers them a delicacy!

Please post more photos of your adorable perfect puppy so we can all enjoy her vicariously through them (but no raw-frogs-legs-hanging-out-of-the-mouth photos, please. Ewwwwww!!)

No worries about dangling frog legs, lol!

This one was taken by my son Saturday. Lexi's with my granddaughter. Sorry it's kind of dark.

These are today, but the quality isn't the best, it's my cell camera.

              Ha!

I've only lost two pair of flimsy flip flops, lol!

All of my nice expensive ones are always put up.

I learned after the first pair of flip flops, but my son left the front closet door open once and she got another pair. Not Bill's or my son's work boots, cowboy boots or their tennis shoes, just my flimsy flip flops, haha!

Terra; Please don't post images of that dog. It scares me. I can tell by looking into it's eyes, that it is planning a major takeover of you home. And the dogs posture indicates a strong tendency toward spreading rumors.

            Just look for warning signs;

The dog starts bringing home friends that are of questionable pedigree.
You find dog treats, and can't identify where they came from....
The dogs breath smells like Listerine, and the dog refuses to tell you where she spent the night.

That stupid back cat was in back of my store again today. He ignored me completely. Even when I put out some old KFC for him, he ignored me.

I'm sort of afraid of that. I'm thinking maybe the 25 to 30 pound range and that's fine with me.

Hopefully you EXPECTED that, and know the background of the dog. They have an average size, and can reach it QUICKLY! Humans are one of the slowest growing species on the planet, and look at how much THEY can grow in a year or two. Be glad you didn't get a ST bernard!

She's half Beagle and half Doxie and I call her a Doxle, lol!

Yes, I know both breeds. My first dog ever was a Doxie, her name was Spice. My sister got a kitty at the same time and her name was Sugar. We had Sugar and Spice, haha!

Anyway, my dad was an AKC Beagle breeder and my most favorite puppy when I was a kid was a Doxie Beagle mix. His name was Snoopy.

So, as you can plainly see, Yeah, I know the breed.

Haha! But Beagles full grown average 20 to 22 pounds and Doxie's, anywhere from 16 to 30 depending on their height and length.

So, I was hoping for 25 pounds tops, bu it may be 30. I don't think she'll get 39 as you suggest.

          I won't allow it, haha!

She sure is fun though. Just this morning she sneaked into my son's room and found a new toy. He should have made sure he shut his door all of the way.
