My Wife and I spent the weekend with her sister and sisters partner. My sister-in-laws partner and I are very much alike. We both have sweet tooths and are fond of the treats from our era.

So, about 2 am I was really thirsty so I hit the fridge. There was a half gallon of cherry koolaid, so I had a big glass and it tasted like crap. No cherry flavor at all, it was either diet or too much water.

At breakfast I mentioned this and was told there was no koolaid in the fridge and what I drank was for the hummingbird feeder.

Everyone had a laugh at my expense

My mother took some back yard grown onions from the shed and fried them. It was fortuitous for us that she was the first to taste them and spat them out as she realized she had cooked Daffodil Bulbs.

Hahahaha, every once in a while, everyone makes a mistake. Kool Aid was something I never bought to give my kids. My mother only made it a few times when I was young. There was just above and beyond far too much sugar to add to that little packet of "flavorings."

One especially drowsy morning in high school, I brushed my teeth with Retin A.

Didn't taste good, but hey, no zits on my teeth.

The other day I took a big, long drink out of the water bottle I keep next to my computer.

Then realized it was hydrogen peroxide.

Couldn't get through to poison control for a few minutes. Finally, I get them and explain what happened and asked if was going to die.

"No, you are not going to die. You can expect some vomiting about 10 minutes after ingestion. How long ago was this?"

    "10 minutes."

No lie, right that second it all came back up. Gross.

When I was 10, I tore up my mom's best friend's good sheets.

No, no, it's not like that...

You see, they moved out of our neighborhood to a new one. My mom's friend's 2 daughters really missed my sister and I and so we were invited to their house for a sleep over. It was really cool as it was an old farm house with a second story. Their old house and the one we lived in at the time were one floor ranches, so it was fun.

Anyway, back to the sheets. The girl's room was on the second floor and well, in the middle of the night, (or so I thought) I woke up smelling something burning. I woke up my sister and she woke up the other girls. We were convinced the house was on fire. So, I recommended we throw the sheet off the bed I was sleeping in (The others were on the floor in sleeping bags) out the window and escape. One of the other girls said that it was too short and wouldn't reach. So I said if we cut it into strips and tied them together, it might be long enough.

One of the girls grabbed two pair of scissors out of their art supply drawer and we began cutting and tying the sheet strips together. Just before we were finished, my mom's friend came into the room and asked us to quiet down, it was 11:30 and the rest of the kids were trying to sleep. Then she saw what we had done.

She asked us what we were doing to the brand new sheet and we explained about the house being on fire. She told us her oldest son had just got home and was making toast to eat and burned it!

Then she asked us why we didn't come and get her if we thought the house was on fire.

We told her that we just didn't think of it, haha!

I shot a jigger of "tequila" once only to find that they'd given me white lightning for a joke instead. After exhaling for about 5 minute with water pouring out of my eyes I felt kinda good. My throat was raw for a week, though.
