The Largest Thing In The Universe?

Well, that's a well-known fact, but I hate to brag.

If it makes you feel any better, there was almost a Claude joke in spot 2. I thought about and decided not to derail the thread immediately lest people may have lit their torches and grabbed their pitchforks for the inevitable "Claude and Dan Ruin Everything" Festival, Jamboree, and Hate Fest.

I was joking. All of it is the same to me. Smart insults are more interesting to me than benign compliments. And when someone says "You guys are derailing the thread", my response is "Think of something better, and post it."

Even a creative insult is better than nothing. In fact, insults that are intelligently thought out, are some of my favorite reading. Even complaints about my posts are sometime well written, and I enjoy them. Steve (can't remember his last name) has done a couple of those.

About the Universe. Yup. There are sections that are millions of light years across...that are composed of almost nothing. And in every computer model where there is an expansion, and gravity....gravity creates threads of galaxies.... and clusters of galaxies........and giant gaps, where there is nothing.

Of course, where we are looking may not be this, and may just be something blocking our view. No idea.

We just found a planet that may have liquid water. It's 1,400 light years away. The Moon is one light second away. Sometimes these ideas make my brain want to scream.

This is something else. The Uk Telegraph reports that Our Galaxy is being pulled towards it at 14 mph. So eventually we will be swallowed up. Giant black hole or the universes drain? We are going down the plug hole. Mysterious 'supervoid' in space is largest object ever discovered, scientists claim - Telegraph

The other giant hole recently discovered in Wooster Ohio is pulling in dounuts at a much faster rate. Scientists say not to be alarmed though as poses no danger to humans and will collapse in upon itself within the next 30 years when it's Quan-tum Singularity is full.

Bloody hoteliers asking their dumb assed perfectly sensible and intelligent questions again.

Is that as bad as the Motel 6 I stayed at in Galveston? When I went to the restroom at 1 am and turned the light on, all the cockroaches and bugs congregated on the floor in front of the throne scattered.

Not so many bugs in Colorado at this altitude, although I gained a new customer this weekend because she says she had bed bugs at Super 8 last year. Bed bugs, though, are simply hitch hikers. Any level of hotel can get them easily.

The main complaints are that the rooms and bathrooms are very dirty, pet smelling, and tobacco smelling. I gained a handful of new customers - up here weekly to do construction - because they were checking into rooms at Super 8 that did not look like the bed sheets were changed, etc, etc.

Yeah - that's what got me. It is the largest absence of, so who wrote that article?

Astronomy fascinated me enough to take a year of it in College. Of course back in those days we lacked the technology to really get in deep and friendly with it that we have now.

Claude - the one that really kills my brain is the fact that they now have about conclusive evidence that our arm of the Milky Way actually collided with the Sagittarius Galaxy at one time, so we might actually be a Sagittarian planet or solar system instead of innately Milky Way -- in which case we might be totally distinct in construction from anything else in this galaxy. That to me is mind bending.

So.........someone has measured that our galaxy is moving toward a distant void at...14 miles an hour?

So, in 50 billion quadrillion years....we'll be 1% closer? I'll be an old man by then.

What do you mean "By Then" ( Dam, already done)

Being attracted to and pulled in, despite the the slow speed I find interesting. If so, it means that what is considered by you and others to be just an empty space could be something more.
